RipOffReport.com - see who in porn has consumer complaints against them

http://www.ripoffreport.com

Have you seen this site? You can search for credit card processors/adult sites and see the consumer complaints against them. I searched for "ccbill", "ibill", "porn", "sex", "adult" and got some interesting results.

here is the search form:
http://www.ripoffreport.com/search.asp

I hope rebilling customers after they have cancelled isn't done intentionally.

Groove 04-26-2003 07:07 AM

So who's Alyon Technologies?

They have a mere 904 (porn) complaints! :eek7

KRL 04-26-2003 07:09 AM

That system is insane. It lets anyone post anything. There are no controls to verify things on there.

They have complaints in there against Adult Check (CyberNet Ventures) for goodness sakes which has been around forever.

That site is a joke.

PornHero 04-26-2003 07:30 AM

I agree that the site is open to anyone to post anything but definitely these people seem pissed and there is the ability for response/rebuttals from the processors. I don't think the site is a joke, it is a good source of consumer complaints to be taken with a grain of salt of course. The average porn surfer will probably never join a site after reading those complaints. :2 cents:

Alyon Technologies definitely seems to be giving us all a bad name.

904 complaints is nothing. If you don't believe me drop a little complaint form on any paysite you have with a decent amount of traffic and watch them roll in. It's human nature to bitch.

PornHero 04-26-2003 07:42 AM

So all these people are lying? I don't think so... I would be fucking pissed too if some bastard kept charging my credit card after I cancelled.

It's not a regular site, they run a dialer program. I'm telling you, there are a percentage of customers that are going to bitch. Here watch the news report with the detective trying to get a dialer unsucessfully but then they "catch it download without being requested" right after. Decide for yourself.

stocktrader23 04-26-2003 07:54 AM

You guys can make your own decision but it sounds like surfers that have no clue to me.

"These people sent me this bill, and all I have ever looked at was free sites. I am a single mom with two kids there is no way that I would ever put myself in this position.

The only other person that has had acsess to my computer is my four year old and I know he did not do this for he can barly read. This is absolute bullshit and there is no way that I am paying this rediculous bill. Anyone who would use this is DUMB! This bill was 493.89 screw that. This is all I have to say thank you have a nice day.

And........

"I have recently started having trouble with a porno site that is being powered by Alyon Technologies. Every day for the last 4 days, when I turn on my Internet Explorer for the first time each day, my screen is replaced with a website that takes over whatever I'm trying to do.

It's URL is: http://network.nocreditcard.com/?bro...&extlogin=1166

The image is of a hot pink screen with picture of woman licking her fingers. I hear the buzz signal from my pop-up stopper, but this website just seems to push past my efforts to block it out. When I close the file, it leaves behind an icon on my desktop for something called Sexonline.

I checked my hard drive and discovered that this file has loaded a program onto my hard drive at
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" C:\WINNT\HTMLAccess\U03_kFMpJCoQBlQrVTiEwdBwQxX\di alframe.htm

I have checked it for viruses and have found none that are currently detectable via Dr. Norton, but I do resent the intrusion on my space.

Every day I clean out these files and remove all traces of this trash from my hard drive and the next day I have to go through the same process again.

This has only been happening since I recently upgraded my version of Internet Explorer and installed a free pop-up stopper powered by a company called Panicware. My guess is that each time we turn on the computer and this image pops up on our Internet Explorer screen, we are being billed for using their site. I have not received my first bill yet, but if everyone else is getting them, I'm sure I will too.

I am reporting this incident to Cert.org. They are a government agency and an arm of the FBI, set up to fight internet crime. Their email address is [email protected].

What amazes me is that some of you still think that this is all the result of crooked surfers or surfers that are just plain stupid. Have any of you even considered for a second how pissed YOU would be if you fell victum to the scum tactics of many of the sites out there:

-Trials that need to be cancelled 24 hours before the end of trial to avoid rebilling. And this clause is ALWAYS placed at least a few hundred words down on the Terms and Conditions link. After a bunch of legal mumble jumble which is almost guaranteed to insure that the surfer will click away BEFORE reading this clause

- Dialers - the scum potential of these little goodies goes without saying

- FREE sites. At least free until you read through the mumble jumble, and find out that you are really agreeing to an INSTANT megasite membership for $39.95 or more.

And the list goes on...and some of you are still surprised...doh!

Boy silly him...how did he possibly miss the terms that said he had to cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the trial, to avoid rebilling. This clause was clearly stated...ABOUT 300 WORDS INTO the terms and conditions.

My god, what happened to you people while you were growing up so that you would think this type of slight of hand, fraudelent behavior is acceptable.

Please, please, please explain to me where any type of common sense would dictate to the average consumer that a 3 day trial is anything but a three day trial. You all defend this type of action (I guess so you can sleep at night),...but I will NEVER figure out how so many people can justify this.

have YOU ever read a hotel rental agreement? a car rental agreement? an AOL memberhip agreement?

ALWAYS READ THE FINE PRINT

hey, where's that big, new revolutionary webmaster program you were talking about? You seem to have all the answers for the industry woes, yet I don't see your program with no consoles, no rebills, no cross bills, program yet...

I agree that not everyone on that site is just a moron, but for fuck's sake, have YOU ever worked in a customer complaint department? You'd be amazed at the shit people pull to avoid paying for something.....and only a complaint form with no means of verification? Doesn't hold water with me...

I searched for "charge back surfer" and "password trader" and "password hacker" "licensed image theft"

funny I didn't get the same results, I guess it only contains what the surfer views as a rip off

"My husband and I were on the internet one night and curiosly went into an adult web page. He wanted to see more so we submitted our credit card number for a membership. He did not get anything they promised and they just wanted more money. He was disgusted and shut them off.

The next morning I turned the computer on and read my e-mails. There was one from cybernet ventures saying that they would automatically bill my credit card every 90 days so that he could continue to have access to their webpages.

We do not want this service, whatever they claim to be offering, because as of right now he still has not seen anything.

What a dumbass. They signed up for a 3-month recurring avs password and were surprised to find out it rebilled.

Most of the complaints I saw were people who didn't read the fine print and were shocked to be rebilled.

A 3 day trial is a 3 day trial (in fact with many billing companies its actually a 4 day trial). If the persons cancels at the billing company they can cancel 71 hours and 59 minutes into their trial and they won't get rebilled.

We have a 24 hour clause on our website, to protect against people who email us messages like "cnxl mbrshp" at 71 hours and 59 minutes into their trial, without supplying their name or subscription number and using a different email address than they used when they signed up. The 24 hours gives us time to respond to them and figure out who they are before they get charged.

Of course some people don't read that clause and still email us 71 hours and 59 minutes into their trial. Idiots.

UnseenWorld 04-26-2003 11:55 AM

A search on either "globill" or "glo-bill" yields no results.

psyko514 04-26-2003 12:58 PM

I spent a whole rainy day posting rebuttals to many of these complaints. Out of at least 20 rebuttals, I think this is the only one posted:

There actually seem to be very few adult website compnies listed there...

teenfarm.com Allowed my 10yr old child to excess site then billed me 1 day later fraudulent ripoff business Omaha Nebraska *Consumer Suggestion ..Check Again

I check my balance daily, and one morning I found that my Credit card was charged $39.95 from iBill and another charge of $39.95 from SuperIopay.

I called my bank and found that my card was used the night before. When I questioned my 10 Year old son he told me that he was on line and the add "pop-ed up" and ask for my credit card number.

I called both company's from the phone number listed on my on-line statement and they said that they would put the money back in right away, My Bank placed the money back under Visa E-Commerance laws.

They never made an attempt to put the money back in like the e-mail they sent me said they would. The Bank sued them and won their case. Now, they are attacking the bank, Chase Manhattin corporation, what is wrong with them?
