Damn good movies

What movies have you seen that's been a brilliant movie? Maybe it's meant something or just stuck with you for being so good? Any recommendations?

Predestination was one of the best I've seen. the movie plot is amazing!

CaptainHowdy 11-14-2017 05:26 AM

None ..........

adultchatpay 11-14-2017 05:35 AM

I watched Kingsmen at it's pretty awesome.

I will surely see Jumanji 2. Rock, Black and Hart should be cool to watch.
Plus the original Jumanji was one of my favorite movies when i was a kid.

CurrentlySober 11-14-2017 05:38 AM

Although its not a 'cool' movie, I particularly enjoyed 'Room' when I saw it.

Room (2015) - IMDb

For a few days afterwards, I found myself occasionally thinking about the characters and wondering if they were OK now or how they were doing... Almost like it was real... Never had that before :)

Not exactly a movie, but I just binge watched season 1 of The Girlfriend Experience (very well done series about a high priced hooker). I highly recommend it. I haven't started season 2 yet.

Land of Mine

Film out of Denmark about German boys put into slavery after WW2 to clear mines. They don't put this in the school history books.

It's based on Robert A Heinlein's short story "All You Zombies" which he wrote in a single day.

One of my favorite movies: Brotherhood of the Wolf

Has something for everyone.

I just watched Ingrid Goes West and thought it was really well done. It's a good look into the mind of a stalker.

There is also a documentary called Tickle that I recently watched that will blow your mind.

Did you see that they announced the Deadwood movie will likely begin production in fall 2018? I can't wait.

I saw The Drop again recently. Such powerful acting in that movie. can't get enough of it.

I liked The Judge as well. It's refreshing to see Robert Downey jr in something that isn't marvel based.

I've seen this thread a few times in the last few days and although I have seen some good movies lately I can never think of them when I need to. Now I remember a few really good ones.

Brawl in Cell Block 99 -- the wife and I watched this one and by the time we were near the end, two hours had passed and we didn't even realize it. Just a good, solid prison flick with no flashy style, a really simple plot and face punching that made us cringe and cheer.

The Rover -- this Australian flick isn't for everyone, but if you like slow burners that pay off at the end you'll enjoy it. It's a simple revenge movie with Guy Pearce trying to get his stolen car back in a rural semi post apocalyptic Australia. You will wonder why he wants his shitty car back so badly until the very last 10 seconds of the movie when it falls on you like a pile of bricks. So good.

The Babadook -- it's a creepy as hell Australian horror movie that's about a lot more than it seems at first. You might have a hard time holding back a man tear if you have a child.

When I realized what was going on (which admittedly pretty far into the movie) I was amazed at how brilliant it was. Can't remember the name of that actress, but she was great and carried the movie.

TheDynasty 11-18-2017 04:35 PM

I fucking love this movie. I saw it 2 twice in the theatre, and easily 6 or 7 times since then. It's a great story, looks fantastic, has a great soundtrack, and there are endless clues throughout the movie to let you know that something's not quite right. One of my all-time favourites for sure.

First time in my life I've agreed with anything you've said. But in this case, I couldn't agree more.

I saw two people get into a fistfight in the theater over this movie.

Near the beginning, when Cameron Diaz walks out of the bathroom wearing only a sheet and looking all kinds of sexy, a guy in the audience let out a very loud groan of desire. It got a big laugh from the audience. Encouraged by this, he would moan, groan, or comment every time she was on the screen. Nobody laughed at his other efforts, but he kept trying to recreate his success. Finally, a guy told him to shut up and he got pissed. They started yelling at each other and the guy who was doing the moaning suggested the other force him to stop. So, the other guy stood up, walked over, and started hitting the dude. They had to stop the movie, call the police, and then restart it after it was taken care of. It's was pretty wild.

Bladewire 11-20-2017 09:00 AM

Predestination

Sarah Snook & Ethan Hawke killed it in this movie and the plots twists will fuck your mind so awesome!

EmmaSimmone 11-20-2017 10:05 AM

Hello guys!

My name is Emma and this is my first post here, I choose this topic because I'm a great fan of seventh art, although sometimes I forget some movies or actor's names hahaha. I just enjoy it in my own way.

The last movie that I saw is Flatliners and I really loved it. The thing that I liked the most was that you didn't expect what was about to happen because at the beginning the story is about science fiction. I also liked that the story had an unexpected ending in my opinion, sometimes I prefer happy endings, who don't? hahaha.

I would like to tell you more but I prefer you to see it in person, let me know if you have seen it already and if you like it or not.
