I think it's more to do with how believable the fantasy is. Personally I think the best horror movies are the ones when the "bad guy" is just a regular guy. If it's a monster then it's unbelievable and looses its effect. Look at the popularity of characters like Hannibal Lecter, Norman Bates and plenty other psychos.

4k? Who cares? As long as the girls and action are hot it doesn't matter what the resolution is. Of course, there's a quality cutoff when it gets too bad, but as long as it's viewable I could give a shit about HD quality.
