Looking for a new smartphone.

I'm currently using a Nexus 6 and would like to upgrade. I prefer one with a larger screen because I'm fucking blind and already have to hold this thing arms length to read. I was going to get a Pixel 2xl but there seems to be too many problems with it. The specifications for Razer's upcoming smartphone look promising. Any suggestions?

Hmmm... Decent battery and I like the SD card slot. Not a fan of their crapware and whatever Bixby is. Are the batteries still replaceable?

Since I am not a big expert on specs based on your fm remark I assume you say specs are not enough for something?

I would be skeptical to that since my phones has MUCH lower specs than this and it is running smoothly. Unless you do some unusual stuff, of course, but you must be in top 1% of heavy users for it not to be enough.

No, the specs are good. I like the idea of using a phone for a universal remote. The FM chip would let me listen to music without wasting bandwidth and I bet uses a lot less battery.

I full time in my RV. I have a 1000Ah battery bank (8x6V AGM) but only 400W of solar (need to upgrade) which is barely enough to keep my laptop, vaporizer, and phone charged throughout the day.

I bought a couple 20000mAh portable battery packs that I'll take into the truck stops and charge up when I can. I'd prefer a phone with at least 4000mAh, but this one has 3000 which isn't bad.

Have you considered bifocals?

I know it sucks to think about but I finally gave in and got some and it makes a big difference.

I tried progressive lens but I didn't like them.

What to think, are there any significant changes with subsequent models? Same same.

GFED 11-04-2017 02:06 PM

I'm reading a lot of good things about Samsung. I'm leaning towards the S8 or Note 8. Only have had two smartphones and both have been Motorola. I've been a big supporter of them as they were the chip maker for AMiGA back in the day. So they are under consideration as well. I wouldn't own an Apple product if you paid me.

I plan on picking one up for my Xmas present so I have a little while still to decide. Thanks for all the input.
