I don't know about you but this video makes me want to work even harder!

'Privilege' is a narrative that is political in nature, imho.

The point is to break down majorities (white people), through use of guilt and shame, and atomize them into nothing more than a collection of individuals, rootless and cut off from the choices and accomplishments of their parents, grandparents, ancestors etc. While simultaneously allowing 'oppressed' minorities to retain their sense of group identity, and enjoy any advantages that may arise from this.

Winston Churchill characterized Communism as "malevolent envy", and I think it's a similar thing here. I guess an equality of sorts could be achieved if all of humanity were broken down into a collection of rootless individuals, but that would mean depriving the 'oppressed' minorities of their group identities also.

If it encourages you to work harder then great, but personally I avoid anything to do with the concept of 'privilege'. The future is indeed in your hands, but the past is also in your blood :2 cents:

Never had private education
Never had private tutor.
Never had a cell phone.
Had some times with lean meals on the plate.
Remember my father not eating. Remember my mother not eating.

I have a degree and 1 kid. divorcing and my son lives the great life because I bust my ass for him. Paid for my own education. Bought my own car. My own house. Never took money from the government.

most of the people i went to school with didn't have their parents paying for their education. they got loans and they worked! it was important to them.

The whole notion of privilege basically penalizes people for their VALUES (and the choices that flow from them). You can't LEGISLATE values...... well, not without unintended consequences at least.
