I am having a contractor add on to my house. We had to sign a mechanics lien to him in case we failed to pay. I totally agree with that and we have paid all but the last 5000 due upon completation of his work. That's cool.

Anyway, I got a preliminary notice in the mail from the lumber yard the other day that the CONTRACTOR has an OPEN account with saying that the LUMBER business can put a lien against my house if the contractor fails to pay his bill.. This is per some civil code section..

Total bull since the contractor has an OPEN account.. It's amazing that a law allows the lumber yard to go after the owner of the house who did not apply for the open credit account or has the lumber bill ....If the contractor failed to pay, I would have to prove that I had paid him the money..

Canada's laws in this matter differ in no way from American Hate laws.

Where denouncing the Holocost is illegal is if you were a teacher or other person in a position of considerable influence over others, and you were teaching that the Holocost did not happen or that the deaths or atrocities were significantly inflated. Or in any other way spreading your beliefs so as to instill hate of another race, religion, disability, and so on.
