Would 1950s /1960s television parodies be of interest to punters?
 

I've been toying with the idea of a gay video called Cocksmoke, a parody of the old show Gunsmoke.

Bonanza could be Bone-Anza
Combat --> Cum-Bat
Many Loves of Dobie --> Many Fucks of Dobie
Lucy Show --> Pussy Show (with Lucy Balls)
and so on!

The people who watched tv in the 1950s are almost all dead now.

Someone should build a time machine so you can just go back to those good 'ol olden timey days you always seem to be dreaming about. You can get the soda jerk to give you a nice fizzy pop while you listen to the barber shop quartet and play fiddly sticks and kick the can. Then the buttfucking starts in the alley behind the five and dime store. The little rascals will be watching you take it up the cornhole.

Not even if I put in the video a self-driving solar powered dildo with a downloadable app available on Itunes???

I'm real old fashioned because I'm still making money and I do it without gimicks, free porn marketing or a damn app.

Why not be more creative and make something original instead of borrow the look, feel, names, atmosphere, creativity and intellectual property of other artists? Do you really need to stand on someone else's shoulders?

No a parody is called "avoiding being sued for copyright infringement. Trust me if I could I would make the exact same movie or TV show but with look-a-likes and hardcore weird sex!

Even your most loved nerd's deity Bill Gates didn't even bother to make a parody of DOS he just outright stole it... (sold it... etc)

Originality costs but standing on someone else's shoulders is easy and cheap.

When Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Blake Ross or you actually pay for porn only then will I worry about what you find boring. But for the record when I get the craving to be creative I put my money in actual art and not smut.

Parodies only work if people know what you are making fun of. Id suspect not many would know enough about that show to understand the characters much less even know of the show. Unless you are targeting gay bears in baddogs age group.

Nostalgia sells but even I admit that Gunsmoke is a long reach which I suppose is probably the reason I asked the question. Parodies cost more and are more work than a slapped together gonzo. It's nice to get a wide range of opinions and even Mark's has some merit. (But don't tell him that)

Just the same I distribute to mainly to nations that are still playing 30+ year old TV shows and pretty much everything I produce skews towards the +55 age demographic. Basically I stick to markets that aren't being heavily hit by the Internet.

You could do it for more recent shows.

Essentially it's just going to be a bunch of homos dressed up like cowboys. So I could very easily slap any title on and use different character names and it'll be that show. But as I said nostalgia sells and it's popular among a demographic that's used to paying for porn.

Plus certain kinds of nostalgia have the benefit of no one wants to fucking pirate it. Call it Westworld and I'm asking for someone to steal it.
