I wonder if the volcanic chain is getting volatile and triggering reactions to different parts of the states it runs through....

i just want to go snowboarding, so please spare mt hood and mt ranier..lol

playa 04-25-2003 07:02 AM

you do realize tha the volcano in your area is ready to blow at anytime

C_U_Next_Tuesday 04-25-2003 09:23 AM

there are 5 major volcanos in Washington state alone....Mt. Ranier has been waiting to blow for years..i just hope i am not snowboarding that day. Im not quite sure about the oregon Volcanos..... major earthquakes could trigger a whole demoliton of most of the west coast...scary thought.

My hubby was here when Mt. St. Helens blew.. lived about 150 miles away ..said the sky was black from the soot and the town was covered with it for a long time....
when my kids found out we were moving from hurricanes and tornados they were happy..till they found out we would be moving near lots of volcanoes..lol

i wish i could find the link that shows all the earthquakes that happen in Alaska alone it shows several a day all over the state..crazy shit.

Fletch XXX 04-25-2003 09:44 AM

i believe there are small earthquakes throughout this state every day.

the first real one i sat through scared me, i had never had the ground shake before.

scary stuff.

i jumped out of bed and darted down the hall, and i literally fell against the fall it through me so much, scary.

a couple years ago now, but it was a nice one.

http://www.aeic.alaska.edu/Seis/recenteqs/

fletch, you are correct..cali has them almost everyday

Thorin 04-25-2003 11:26 AM

In Cali we don't notice earthquakes until a building falls over.
