90 Tigers Found Dead At Calif. Home

"(CBS) Ninety dead tigers, including 58 cubs discovered in freezers, were found dead at the home of an animal rescuer, authorities said.

John Weinhart, 60, who runs Tiger Rescue and had previously been accused of improperly caring for tigers, was arrested Tuesday for investigation of animal cruelty and child endangerment."

I have been involved in big cat rescue for a number of years and something you have to bear in mind is that countless numbers of thses animals go to people who have no business owning them. A 20-40% save rate is a complete success especially with cubs. So if this guy had been involved in rescue work for any time at all, 90 cats is theorhetically a realistic number. Something else to remember is that burying animals on or near property that houses large predators is not an altogether birght idea. I don't know the full story here and the number of cats is alarming but it's important to consider all sides. The animal rights activists are pros at using the media to have their cause(s) championed and supported by popular opinion and don't pay much credence to the facts, kinda like the rest of the liberal media, but that is an entirely different conversation....

But I don't understand... How does it occur that there are that many wild cats in the US that need to be rescued?

When I was a kid I had a pet goat that eventually ate everything in the entire yard and we had to send her to a rescue place. Actually she was supposed to be a pygmy goat (small) and the fuckers sold us the wrong goat and she got huge hahaha.

But lions and tigers? How do so many wind up here and need to be rescued?
