My ultimate goals from making money in porn

To build my own house with $400,000 and have a small house out back for my mom.

4 car garage( 2 for parking and 2 for customizing), 10+ acres, surrounded by trees, basketball court indoor and out. Detached woodshop for my custom woodworking. Also another detached studio for my dad to bang the hell out of his new drum set:1orglaugh

Plenty of landscaping stone, pavers, etc... I love doing all this shit myslef nothing better than looking back at something you created. I can build the whole house except for the plumbing. I have many years of electrical experience also. Nothing like charging $75 hr for a service call

Very commendable ambitions and if you have talent for this business and work very hard it is possible.

But a safer bet might be for you to stick to being an electrician and do this part time as a hobby. When the day job earns less then the hobby it's time to switch professions.

Worked for me. Made the switch in 1988 and never regretted it. :thumbsup

WiredGuy 04-24-2003 10:47 PM

the goal you set is very possible and with some good business sense can be achieved. I have similiar goals of getting the nice house, a few cars and basically living the dream life but to be honest, even with all that success if I achieve it, I still see myself doing exactly what I'm doing now. I'm quite happy as it is and if its not porn, its some other business.

It should be our goals to do what we love best and using our abilities to achieve the freedoms to do them.

every newbie's dream,, than reality hits

Rochard 04-25-2003 01:30 AM

Every newbie has a dream. I had a dream once too. And then reality smacked me right in the face.

I started work this morning at 7AM, and it's now 1AM I'm still fucking at it.

I have a nice house, a new Mustang, and a Sports bike that will destroy any car anyone on this board has.

I work hard; I play hard. I was a newbie. I got mine. It's all depends on if you want it bad enough........

I say dream BIG... Bigger is better... have pictures/models in your office of your dream and then work towards it. Help one another and we will have everything we ever wanted.

You can get very wealthy very fast if you make great unique sites, network well, and work 24/7.

Many guys have become millionaires after only a couple years in this biz.

Angelonfire 04-25-2003 03:35 AM

Damnnnnnnnnn I think its the first thread that I can read people actually give good imput...Kinda scary and discouraging at times to even ask question in here .. lots loveeeeeeeeee and have a orgasme trashing others...

If you can build a decent paysite, have some idea how to promote it, and some business sense, I don't think 400k in a couple of years is an unreasonable goal.. even starting now.

McSpike 04-25-2003 06:11 AM

$400k is a very acheivale goal in this biz. Not overnight or in a year, but in a couple of years. I am very optimistic. Not to even talk about mainstream. Heck the whole internet is one big market hall with money just waiting to be picked up and we are at the begining of its evolution. Every year brings something new people will make lots of cash with and every year you get more experienced (if you are smart) which means sooner or later you will find your cash cow and then another and then another... You just have to pay attention, try more things and not expect it will fall in your lap.

Internet still represents a gold fever and will for years to come. Many people have no idea what it represents and before they do I'll already be tanning at the back yard of my mansion :)

Anything is possible, It just depends on how hard you work, how bad you want it, and how smart you are.

Starting in this business in 96' would have been much much easier I know, but that doesn't mean it's not possible in 03', it's just going to take MUCH more effort!

smack 04-25-2003 06:37 AM

like most things in life i feel that you get out of it what you put into it. oh yeah, and there's always that 1% luck factor that never hurts :thumbsup

KRL 04-25-2003 07:08 AM

Another point, if you use all the marketing and creative skills you have and can learn from other webmasters you can also get into mainstream internet businesses and run circles around most of the non-adult guys out there who haven't been through the challenges and trenches like you deal with in the adult end of things.

You have to wake up every morning slap yourself in the face and remember there are 700 million people online looking for things to buy, be entertained with, subscribe to, etc. Think about that number. 700 million people to sell to 24 hours a day 7 days a week nonstop. And before long there will be over a Billion potential customers online.

And the cool thing is the market is open for everyone on an equal footing. You can build a site that's cooler looking than Wal-Marts and gets more visitors. Its unlimited what you can accomplish on the Net.

Take time to clear your mind and think of new ideas. That's where the huge money is in this game. Being the first on the block to offer something innovative and cool.

And it doesn't matter if you're a newbie cause always remember this famous quote says it all.

"Amateurs built the Ark, professionals built the Titanic."

My original goal four years ago was $1000 extra a month for my kids college fund. And to have fun, because I was bored as an applications programmer.

I hope to reach those goals soon.

It can be done, I got investment (seed) funds NZ$14000 in Jan 2000 based on a mainstream concept.... got down to $300 left before I started my niche sites, things were slow for the first few months but then took off.

Last year I was able to purchase my first home with cash and buy a car which I had done without for 2 years because I am a tight bastard LOL!

This year I also started a couple of real world biz startups back in my home counrty New Zealand (gym & car importing) with some partners won't see a return for awhile but good to have backups in place.

I am now looking at buying a real world biz here in OZ but am in no hurry, just want something I can "direct" but not run day to day.

I will always be greatful for the head start the net has allowed me to achieve in life and plan to be involved for awhile yet.

This is not meant to be an arrogant "oh look at me" post because I know there are many who have and continue to make mega $$$ I could only dream about (and my hat of to them!) but from growing up in my teenage years with my family living on a goverment benefit I am happy.

I have made mistakes throughout the last 3 years that cost me a hell of allot of extra tax (top tax rate in OZ 49.5% personal) but hey you live and learn.

I guess my main reason for posting is to let you know your target is something you can do if you can learn from your mistakes and not matter what keep striving for it.

Good luck to you & nice to see a positive thread on this subject, certainly a rare thing LOL!

Interlude 04-25-2003 05:37 PM

I remember building an AVS site back in 1996 or so, expecting a bit of beer money to help entertain my poor ass in college... imagine my surprise when my first check was for $575 or so. Ahh, God bless the old days, such easy money.

Thanks for the quote! I like it!

Everyone here is right...it IS possible!! Take a look at the big players today....they all started as newbies. Yes, the game is tougher, but definitely not impossible to crack. I see HUGE companies today that started but 2 years ago....
