Camgasm Shutting Down

It's probably no surprise but it's true.

https://blog.camgasm.com/random/camg...shutting-down/

The good thing I took away from that beta was it got me more into cams. :) It helped me get going with other ideas after writing one of the highest ranking reviews with thousands of free signups under my belt.

Now, it technically means nothing, those free signups. But I am glad I did that.

The reality is there wasn't anything Camgasm could have done that Chaturbate didn't already do and that bigger cam sites didn't already have done.:pimp

Getting harder to break into cams

incredibleworkethic 10-01-2017 06:46 AM

Definitely, what's your take on harder?

I just started last year. Maybe I got lucky lol.

I was more thinking from the sponsor perspective, but you have certainly done well as an affiliate, I've tried cams a couple of times and it didn't work out

Honestly, I think the bigger problem with cams is the sponsor we choose and then realizing for the bigger guys like chaturbate and livejasmin that you can't just throw up links. Niche promotion just like pay sites. Promo niche cams. That's really all the advice I have and kinda got lucky doing that.

I only promote cam sites that I would personally join if I was going to join one. So livejasmin always has very good looking, well educated cam models. Chaturbate is always the place to have fun and play sex games with the models.

There are other good cam sites that rank high with them, but that's really the only reason I pick the two best out there (IMO). I know I'm going to get paid and they have the models online, top models on each site know how to do their job too :).

Thanks for the tips :thumbsup

One difficulty I have is that I have never used cam sites as a consumer, if I was a fan I imagine it would have helped.

Me either, but putting my head in their shoes, it's a live interactive experience you can't steal (sure you can record it but it won't be unique to you, which people do pay for, even though maybe not ALL will pay for, do you see?).

this is a joke, wtf, i have to contact them , i have some opened dollars there....

crazy world, if they can do it so quick, iam sure, one day no suprise, when they do the same with chaturbate...

incredibleworkethic 10-01-2017 02:54 PM

They said they would pay all affiliates out. I'll see if I get my few bucks lol. :)

incredibleworkethic 10-01-2017 02:57 PM

And why would they close a successful site like Chaturbate? :) This was only a beta of Camgasm.

Barry-xlovecam 10-01-2017 04:48 PM

The no hardcore in free schema Camgasm business model was in direct conflict with the type of traffic sent to Chaturbate (by affiliates) -- you shouldn't be surprised Camgasm failed.

Also Camgasm was a clone of the Chaturbate templates.

My spell check corrects 'camgasm' to 'sarcasm' -- I don't know WTF they were thinking.

Yes, no surprise here that this site failed as well. You can not clone success.

Well that means I need to modify a lot of sites where I was promoting them through their APIs which means more work for me :( !

Tjeezers 10-02-2017 03:39 AM

I always refused to work with Camgasm because it had nothing extra to add, it was not different than CB, sorry for those who have put in some hours of work :(

Paul Markham 10-02-2017 06:55 AM

too many people using the same method to drive traffic is never going to work. You need to find a different approach.

As far as I know, all the camsites are using a *customer sign-up (registration)* database in common to all their websites and white labels.

That would make the acquisition of a new customer difficult for an affiliate -- on the reverse side; this policy would retain current allocated customers to their respective affiliates, and more to the point, protecting the camsites' 'house' accounts from slippage to affiliate white labels. :2 cents:

Another thing to consider is new customers coming into the market and customer attrition to competing camsites.

Yes every year you wait, the more registrations you miss out on signing up.

That being said every year so many people turn 18 and can buy the credits/tokens.
