Probably not, because everyone has limits and some things are just bad for the industry. Spam is one of them. Use your heads when you post; any company with little enough respect for you to mega-spam your email boxes (espcially addresses they have no business having) is not a company you want to do business with.

I think free hardcore porn in plain view is much more damaging to our industry than spam...

I'm not saying everyone should run out and spam...that's what's killing the profitbility of spam anyways, too many amateurs...if it's YOUR line you don't want to cross, then by all means, don't cross it, stick to your guns and run your business how you think it should be run.....

if most of you only knew the dark little secrets of this business that aren't exactly brought out in the light of day, you'would probably need a shower afterwards to cleanse yourselves....

do I want my child getting porn spam n their email? hell no, but I also don't wan them typoing a kid-related domain and hitting a porn site...I don't want them seraching for their favorite cartoons in a seach engine and finding porn...

porn is NEVER going to have a sterling reputation, now matter how we try to dress ourselves up and act like we're the biggest saints in the fucking world, it's NEVER going to matter to most of the people out there...even those who look at and enjoy porn...get used to it...

I do not knowingly do business with anyone who promotes or is involved in certain activities and one of them is spam. I am not omniscient but I go by what I know.

I don't agree with this. I'd like to see less TGPs or TGPs that won't accept hardcore and so on, but I don't believe the problem is on anything even approaching the level of spam. Spam and its attendent activities such as abuse of services, annoyance to "innocent" people, delivery to email boxes not only of underage people, but underage people who didn't even go out looking for it, are a much, much larger problem. It is those things that bring us under scrutiny and beg for umbrella legislation of our industry and make for the kind of press and support that can cause us real problems.

If we don't police ourselves, someone will do it for us and it is 100% certain we won't like it.

Which is exactly what I do.

I am going to assume this is just a general statement because it certainly doesn't apply to me. I've been full time in this industry for nearly seven years, now, and I know quite a bit about what goes on.

I never said spam was the only evil in our business. However, just because there is more than one shitty practice in use doesn't mean you just throw your hands up in defeat.

So, just because we'll never have 100% acceptance we may just as well act like dirty scum and justify our bad reputation?

That's fine, I don't expect other people to agree with me just because I say something is so. It wasn't even the point of view I was attacking, it was the hypocritical and ignorant bullshit. If someone wants to support spam, that's their business... for now. Keep it up long enough and we will become massively regulated from the outside. Then the smack will come down on everyone and there will be much crying and whining. I will be more than happy to link this thread when it happens.
