Are we REALLY going to let them die?

Trump sanctions on North Korea are already having negative effects. Long lines at gas stations and then there will be long lines for food and then Mass starvation. Are we really going to sit by and watch the hundreds of thousands of people starve to death?

They need to be taught a lesson, although I think they actually wouldn't starve to death

Long lines for gas? Nobody owns a car there. Only government officials and the "elite".

When is the fat slob that runs the country as his own personal petting zoo and the rest of the leadership there going to properly get the blame for the mess the place is in?

They need to rise up and change regimes just like us here in America.

Those camps I'm told are the worst places on earth

Paul Markham 09-22-2017 12:12 AM

The NK regime is letting them die. Not the sanctions. NK could be as prosperous as SK if not for a handful of NK people.

klingon, the klingon empire drops 25,000 bombs/year, has invaded more countries than the roman empire (romulans LOL) and spies on all its federation allies...

why the double standard?

The oligarchs do not care about human life, the only time they care is if it's getting the nations they control too much bad publicity, and if they are losing the war of propaganda

Considering Republicans and Trump are willing to let thousands if not millions of Americans lose their healthcare coverage and die,, well why do you think they care about North Koreans?

BaldBastard 09-22-2017 04:02 AM

Kim is very scared of Trump! he will certainly stop all development of all nuclear weapons immediately and willingly show inspectors that he has done so, and when he's done that maybe the USA can chip in some money to help rebuilt, like maybe turn those bomb making facilities in to reactors to fuel the country.

Trump can then cheer that he has resolved the situation and the USA and the rest of the world is saved.

... whoops sorry that's what Clinton did..

The issue is no one really knows what Kim has or doesn't have weapons wise or even where they may or maynot be located, the sanction's placed on NK now means many will die ( Trump just signed a death warrant for thousands of children) , whoever makes the call.. " the situation is over" and they will, is going to be held to history, because it surly won't be.

The problem at its core is the whole nuclear deterrent attitude that the USA and Russia have used for so long, because as the technology becomes more common its harder to contain and before we know it all countries will have nukes, or at least any that want them. Let a rouge nation know that if they let off a missile you will incept it and blow it up ( with 100% certainty ), then the race to bigger bombs and missiles is over.

Had the USA invested more into defence than attack abilities then maybe the THAAD would have a better success rate than 30-60%. Sadly a defence system like that would mean half of the USA's military is no longer needed.. and we couldn't have that.

as somebody who lived 20+ years under US sanctions I can confirm that it does not hit the leaders of the country at all....their stash of cuban cigars is in no danger whatsoever...it hits only the poor and the weak...

my problem with governments asking for sanctions is that the governments know what I know...it is basically calling for punishment of the weak, who are supposed to fight for the political ambitions and ideas of the strong in another country...this is pure cruelty and economic terrorism...I would rather die from a bomb and die quickly than starve to death for months...

I find politicians who call for sanctions worse than ISIS...or USIS...

Hey fuckin' idiots!

Foodstuffs, feed grain, medicines and other humanitarian goods are not embargoed in shipment to North Korea.

Someone has to pay for their purchase however.

this is of little consolation when you ban the stuff necessary to transport the food: pertoleum...

also the domestic food production works great with no gasoline...

make no mistake about this: you will be starving them to death...

I thought the sanctions were for 10 years on and off - 1992 to 2001.

Barry-xlovecam 09-22-2017 08:35 AM

There is no oil embargo agreed to -- more lies.

The North Koreans are suffering a drought now -- they are 1/2 starved already.

Kim-fat-balls will not help his own people. Kim just spends the money he has building nuclear bombs and ballistic missiles to threaten the word with. He must have a micro-penis ...

"You"

The reason your opinion on this board is so isolated, is because you attack verbally ALL Americans, for the deeds of only a select few. Your hatred for ALL of us is especially not hidden by your condescending remarks toward American policies.

I am no fan of Trump, and I know America is not perfect. However, wherever you come from in this world, I am sure your rulers shit does not smell like roses.

in various degrees it was 20+ years...the hardcore sanctions lasted 10 and they were not on and off but on all the time....then came the west and its loan sharking...find somebody who is on the floor and struggling and kick him some more :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

you see if I burn your shop to the ground and offer you a bad credit when you are desperate, the sanctions are not really "off"...it is a never ending extortion and the demands of the west never stop...

I do not hate you but I have no illusions...you (americans) would sell us all out for 2 cents cheaper gasoline...

I do not support kim and the n.korea regime but the best thing n/korea can do is develop mighty nukes to keep you guys away...

I thought about this, but I don't think so. I think UN looks at his people and weapons and mass army and probably thinks he could win a war with all that, plus he probably has all kinds of deep bunkers to hide in, so I don't think he's afraid of Trump.

Instead, I think he's afraid of losing power, and I think he's lonely. I think he probably sees all the world news and feels ignored when he's not on the front page. I think he wants to join the world party, but feels hated by the world, so he can't. He's the sad kid in 3rd grade who wasn't picked to join the ball team, or invited to the party next door.

Donald FuckHead Trump has the most perfect opportunity here to prove to the world that all his "I'm the best deal maker" crap might be true.

I think he should put together a team of smart NK experts and bureaucrat, and start communicating with UN and the boys. Hell, pickup the phone and call the guy. Then in a way that satisfies Un's ego and prevents him from losing face in front of his subordinates, start making deals with him, talk about building a couple of fugly Hotels, open NK up for tourism and world trade, etc etc. Sure its complicated but I think this is what Kim wants.

People saved, Crisis averted, and Trump can be the clown who saved the world from nuclear annihilation. Hell I'd even give him a pass if he could do that.

Of course they are not "obliged", just as I am not "obliged" to obey the orders of a cop, but of course I may be shot if I don't and any country can do as they choose as long as they are willing to pay the consequences and there are consequences.

This is what I was thinking too. CNN just ran a special about "Life In Korea" which I found fascinating, but I don't recall seeing any civilian cars. The only transportation I remember seeing was the old 1960s Soviet era bus they used to get around.
