Huge Traffic Drop?
OK normally I do not question slight fluctuations in traffic. Sometimes it all depends on the day, week, month. But I noticed a HUGE traffic drop beginning Friday August 11th and I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed anything similar?
I know it's the last two weeks of August when most of Europe (and half the USA) are on Holiday but I've never seen a 30% drop overnight like this before. And no, it hasn't returned (yet). Boy this Internet business really keeps you on your toes eh? LOL |
Getting the last of summer vacation in, prepping for the kids going back to school, etc.
|
There has been some SERP movements i am personally observing . I do not if your traffic is organic or direct though .
I was posting a link to it but i do not have privelege yet , check seroundtable :) |
I think it may have a lot to do with all the shitty news of late. The attacks in Europe and the alt-right v. antifa shit going down in the USA. Summer slowdowns are normal however so who knows.
SEO hocus pocus is always an ongoing matter -- when Google farts it's best to just leave the room. No sense sniffing and trying to describe the smell -- that gets very old fast ... |

Maybe September will improve (I am praying) but is anyone else seeing these kind of major drops in traffic? |
I have not noticed a drop in traffic in our network.
|
Sales stink too
|
I noticed a huge Google drop back in May, but nothing besides that and fortunately it didn't affect sales.
Nothing major besides that including recent history. As others like Barry said, it's best not to fret too much about it though you can always check your Search Console and see if there are any messages or Manual Actions needing your attention there. |
There is a big fluctuation on organic traffic over last 2 months.
I noticed many up and down in big sites. Here is organic traffic stat of a tube site of a client I've been working for 9 months ;) http://i.imgur.com/U0XqKKy.jpg |
Social media bot traffic is still stable though
Organic SE traffic = race to the bottom |
I noticed an overall traffic drop with the Tumblr fuckup. Seems they disabled indexing of their adult blogs on Google, but that was done in the beginning of July.
Blogs are still accessible without logging in though. |
So was it Google traffic you lost?
For a lot of the adult search queries, Google is now only displaying 3-6 result pages. Test a few queries. Don't let it fool you if says millions of matches, click page 10 to test. For "MILF porn", it first looks as if there were a lot of results. If I click page 10, I discovered that instead of the millions of results they reported, they'll only display 6 pages. I'm not sure if this is a bug, or they're intentionally cutting down porn SERPs, but it's definitely affecting the traffic of adult sites. |
Hi,
I also have/had traffic drop around that date. Question are you working with Cloudflare ? I received a email, where they say they go to remove some features if we don't upgrade our account. (cloudflare saved 10.000$ on bandwidth the month before) Thanks |

Not sure if I got that correctly.... We have a "friendly" tumbler and were getting several hundreds hits a day, since July we barely get 50....does this have to do with the deindexing ?? |
Depends on your main traffic sources. Most of my traffic is organic so If I would notice a "huge traffic drop", I would know there is most likely something wrong with my SERPs.

Anyway, Tumblr started to restrict access to adult blogs for users who are not logged in and don't have safe mode off at the same time. I noticed there is a new visibility option in the settings turned off: xxx is explicit It'll only be viewable to 1) logged-in users who 2) have safe mode off Learn more I guess it's just a matter of time till they find out and mark the blog as explicit.. so it won't be visible to those logged out and therefore completely done. |
Have you checked your incoming links? A friend of mine lost 1/3 of his traffic last week and quickly figured out he had been hit by a negative seo attack. He had almost 100k shitty backlinks to his sites which he had nothing to do with. Check in webmaster tools, and see if anything is going there, cause someone seems to be playing the unfair game at the highest level. Just an idea

If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included. |
no drop here since 2 weeks ago, our traffic halved, not sure why, but things happen. It will boost back up :thumbsup

Your traffic was cut in half two weeks ago, yes or no? It has returned or no? :) |
In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted the goyim.
Here's a bump :thumbsup |

OK yes, but that's not what I meant... Gary/Nat said something confusing - No traffic drop yet their traffic was halved two weeks ago. Quote:
Maybe you can explain it to me dude. WAS there a traffic drop for Gary/Nat or was there NOT a traffic drop for Gary/Nat? (OK now I do need some drugs whew!) |
