who likes trance?

alice deejay rocks
This shit really gets me going in the morning for some reason

Yo Adrian 04-23-2003 09:40 AM

Alice Deejay's cool, never considered her trance though

When I think trance I think Goldie, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Deep Dish, Lamb, Air, Delirium, The Orb etc.....

Along with Alice Deejay I think Faithless, Tricky, Kid Loco, Thievery Corp, DJ Shadow, ATB and a few others

unconnected 04-23-2003 09:56 AM

Yea, if you can look past Alice Deejay's commercial makeyou want to throw up shit, she has some REALLY awesome remixed albums..
Faithless I think has to be one of the most creative and brilliant musical geniuses of my generation.. Have you seen the video for We Come One? Jesus christ..

Hmm, who do we like here... Mauro Picotto, Oakenfold, Spoiled and Ziggo, Roger Sanchez, Brooklyn Bounce, Blank and Jones, Antiloop, BT, Chicane, Dave Pearce, Derik Carter, Ben Nevis, Dj Astrid, Dj Doboy, Dj Cross, Dj Brian, Ferry Corsten, Dj Jean, Dj Jurgen, Dj Mystik, Dj Tibby, Tiesto, Sasha, Digweed, Pulse Driver, Marusha, Matt Hardwick, Man With no name, Slinky, Tall Paul, Union Jack, Van Dyk, oh the list goes on.. but those are our favorites, as well as some cool jazzy stuff by Mark Farina..

FreeOnes 04-23-2003 10:00 AM

trance folk get together here in the desert and do drugs and shake their ass.

trance and other electronic events are so rampant here right now.

i cant even go to my favorite cd store without walkinjg past a coffee shop with dual DJ stations next door spinning shit.

these guys are set up right on Ventura blvd in front of the store spinning on the sidewalk.

Easton 04-23-2003 10:44 AM

FreeNetPass Steve 04-23-2003 10:59 AM

I like trance but I prefer house.

dnsmonster 04-23-2003 11:27 AM

George Acosta all the way. I like my trance agressive yet melodical.

rowan 04-23-2003 12:44 PM

I just spent a hundred bucks on trancemaster 3002 and 3006... 3004 is on back order and I'm going to buy 3003 and 3005 soon. They've all suddenly flooded in here after months and months of nothing.

I think I'm up to 18 trancemaster compilations now (double CD, some triple)

It's a bitch that my new car CD player refuses to play CDRW media, my preferences vary a lot so it would be nice if I could redo my track listing every week...

I'm all for Jungle, House, D&B, breakbeat and anything Dj. Rap feels like spinning :Graucho

http://thecreek.virtualave.net/images/learningcurve.jpg

Here's a great site for all of us electroheads...

http://www.dancepass.net/sr/home.dpx

Tons of videos, live sets and dj mixes to stream for your pleasure.:thumbsup

rowan 04-23-2003 01:00 PM

Anyone do mixing here? I cheat a bit and just use the computer (www.mixvibes.com) but I do it all by ear with NO MONITOR to cue the second track. It's all timing and practice (and quick corrections if I get it wrong, since it's audible in the final mix :Graucho )

I love to have two tracks going in perfect sync, I often leave an overlap of a minute or more, and I try to get the end of the previous track in rather than just fade it out quickly.

Unfortunately I had most of my mixes sitting on a hi-fi VHS tape, which the VCR chewed up. :(

This thread has inspired me to wander off and do another one. :)

i dig Scorn.

Scorn was created by Mick Harris in 1991 to create rhythmic, hypnotic drum and bass music. Since its inception, with its throbbing low end, ethereal sounds and big beats, Scorn has explored previously uncharted musical territory and, in the process, has redefined the world of ambient dub.

Corsten is probably the only name mentioned here so far that is worth a shit. He has mad skills. Tiesto is also worth comment.

Pop trance sucks!!!!!!

Psi trance is where its at. I'm talking serious Man with No Name, Vibrasphere, Aes Dana, Skazi, and the ever popular Mushroom.

Anyone else notice how it's becoming more common to usetrance as the background music in porn movies???

Beats that bow-chicka-bow-wow shit they've used in the past. Good steady beat to fuck too
