WebRTC video streaming in WebVideo expected by October 2017

Hi everyone!

we are working hard on switching our script for online webcam business from Flash to WebRTC and so far we were able to release a successful alpha version today with following features:
1) live video stream can be watched by user/customer without Flash Player using WebRTC.
2) a model can broadcast from any WebRTC supported browser
3) models can broadcast from mobile browsers as well, see screenshot below of model's side

And it is not a WebRTC peer-to-peer connection but we use re-broadcasting server to allow hundreds of customers watching the same model without use of Flash.

Main benefits of our technology:
1) Sure main thing is getting rid of Flash for both model and customer end
2) On a customer side, WebRTC has lower latency than HLS (latency is about 1-2 seconds in our tests)
3) Full mobile support for both models and customers once iOS 11 is released in September 2017.

Expected release date of WebVideo with WebRTC streaming is October 2017.
All our existing customers could upgrade from Flash to WebRTC.

ModelNet will turn into WebRTC streaming within October-November and we welcome new webcam sites into ModelNet!

Great news - we have released Beta version of WebVideo with full WebRTC streaming support today!
Anyone want to check out DEMO, see me online here:
https://demo.online-webcam.net/chat/Support

IMPORTANT:
1) you should have WebRTC supported browsers.
2) iOS and Mac OS would be supported from September 12 once Apple release iOS 11 and Mac OS High Sierra
3) bear in mind this is first beta and we will be sorting bugs within September

The official release would be in October 2017 as planned and all our customers could get updates.

Great news - iOS 11 is released and our WebRTC based video chat is working pretty much fine on all devices based on iOS, Android as well as desktop computers running all latest browsers: Chrome 61+, Firefox 52+, Safari 11+ or EDGE for Windows.

We are coming into the new era of non-Flash webcam sites and you can see a demo of our software here:
https://demo.online-webcam.net/

I am online if someone would like to discuss partnership opportunities.
WebRTC version is still in beta testing and release is planned by the end of October, all our clients will receive updates and ModelNet would be working on WebRTC by the end of this year.

I am very excited to see how Java stream was replaced by Flash and now Flash is getting replaced by WebRTC.

See sig for partnership inquiries, contact skype: alentyev or call (650) 603-0856.
I am available 10am-7pm GMT+7

We did something similar on a client's webcam site that we built - the only problem is that many browsers still do not support it, or support it poorly (limitations on resolutions/bit-rates/etc) which ultimately forced us to have to support flash as well for the time begin.

Which browser is not supported? Since the release of iOS 11 and Safari 11 yesterday all browsers I have tested are supported except IE.

Doesn't work under Palemoon, and we couldn't get it working properly under Firefox.

I believe Firefox and Palemoon are based on the same code and you can try browsers on our demo server, I am online now:

Palemoon: Screenshot by Lightshot (newest version)
Firefox: Screenshot by Lightshot (newest version, doesn't show that error but never connects)
Chrome: Works fine and I can see you

We had more or less same issue on our tests, couldn't even get the most basic demos working on any PC in our office or at home.

I use Firefox on Mac OS, will try Windows as well

Actually it turns out my firefox WASN'T updated - it was firefox 47. It seems when it updated I had to go into update again for it to get to firefox 55. When it updated to 55, it works now - so looks like it was fixed fairly recently.

Dmitry 09-21-2017 01:09 AM

Right and for iOS and Mac OS it was fixed literally yesterday :)
