All those boxes of money
In Iraq, $660,000,000 USD estimated. Why did Sadam have US money? Doesn't Iraq have Iraqi money? If there was Iraqi money is it going to be worth anything anymore? Anybody have a good link that goes into detail reguarding this? Do you think the soldiers took any boxes? I would try!

If i was one of soldiers who found i would have gunned down any other soldiers in room and used grenades on the rest of the house, then stuff and run baby.

Because the money's going to be worthless, I think. Which I doubt, but you never know. Saddam's on it. |
I would throw out the chemical protection gear and ammo and use the room for stacks of $100 dollars bills.
QUICK PUT ON YOUR GAS MASK! "Damn it!!" |
I figured he would be on it.

couple of answers....
the new color of money has not been released to the public yet. This is for a couple of reasons, one of them being counterfeits. They don't want to give anyone a head start. As for Saddam having american money is pretty simple. First American currency is one of the most economically safe and strongest currencies in the world. Most widely accepted currency in the world. The reason Saddam had so much cash was the fact that since 1991 the US government has been watching the transfers of money in so called "terrorist organizations" By dealing with cash, there is more privacy, less paper trail, plus the money was probably for illegal oil trades with Iran and other illegal activities. If the money was tranferred electronically it would be easily traced. Once Saddam receives the american money most likely its snuck out of the country then deposited into offshore accounts, and other funds to hide it. During war, and all the looting etc, reaks havic on the iraqi economy. If they bring in a new government, there could be a possibility of new currency which could eventually render the iraqi dollar worthless. One country giving money to another country is like trading apples and oranges. Dealing with only apples (american currency) is a lot easier and more ecomincally safe. |
i thought this was going to be a thread about the scene in 'Blow' where they can't find any more room in the house to put all the money. great fucking movie.
