IPad FTP Issues ... Pleading For Help....

I have about ten saved Notes in Notepad, some about seven pages in length, on iPad 5. I need to FTP them to my site. The only options on clicked import options are mail.com, iMessage and another I forget. I researched and learned about iCloud Drive. Went to iCloud.com and began the process. Went into Settings and enabled iCloud. Came back to import the files; only the three options were there.

I can import each to mail.com but even if I save each file, ftp doesn't let me choose a folder. I've tried six free ftp apps but it seems that, unlike Windows, you can't choose.

How do I get my Notes files to be a choice when doing ftp? Or how to copy Notes to the directory I choose? Then I can ftp to my site, send over the files, and then import via plugin.

Or, if you have the app to do this that you bought, and you are willing, I can email you the text in many emails, give you ftp access to the wp-content folder, and you can put them there. I have a custom plugin someone here wrote for me. I figured the app you bought is out of my budget and I don't want an illegal copy. With my luck, we'll be busted and prison beds aren't the hospital bed I need :)

I'm frustrated so hopefully this is clear enough to understand. Copy text, save as HTML, ftp to my account. Sort of ... 😉

Why not email the files to yourself and deal with tbem on a pc? Would take a matter of seconds.

Adraco 07-31-2017 07:49 AM

Not sure why you are trying to do all this from an ipad. But you seem to run into troubles with this, so I am going to offer to help out. Please make contact and email the text to me. I will make a text file for each email and upload to your ftp anywhere you want.

Would that be of any help to you?

Seconds for you. I'm now disabled so everything takes much, much longer. Using my laptop with Windows seems easy but I'd have to sit up for a while. I wanted to do it that way but it would take weeks due to my not being able to sit up for long.

I don't use MAC but I googled this

Using FTP with an iPad | Macworld

not sure if it helps but I hope it does!

I use this iPad as I can lie in bed on my side and use it. I truly appreciate your offer. I'll PM you

Ahh I see. Sorry I didn't realize that was the case.

I wondered what happened to you back in the day. Didn't realize the medical issue you had. Glad you are on the comeback trail. Hope you get this issue worked out.

This.

And if this doesn't help, call Apple's tech support. It's excellent.

Why not get a premium tablet with windows 10 on it? they don't cost that much and seem like a good investment.

Good tip, there are many many small latop/tablet touchscreen computers. I spent some time to figure out how to transfer files from an IPad. It sucks.

I offered to help and we are in contact.

If I can help by giving a little bit of my time in this case, it will be my pure pleasure in doing so.

Thank you! It showed it's not me but the iPad itself

No apology necessary. It's a difficult situation but I rely on the kindness of strangers 😉

Nine years ago I "left" but I'm back in ultra-limited capabilities. One site is enough for me.

It's not easy to ask for help. And the iPad is so .... confusing. Long live Windows!

I got one as a gift, thanks to my bff. It's a Dell small laptop but the screen folds over to make it a tablet. I haven't used it much since I have to look everything up (amnesia). The screen on desktop is boxes as links to stuff I don't use. I plan to research how to delete that and build my own screen with text links to programs. This new screen might work for newbies but is not what old-time users want. I know, it's the future and technology is changing. Some of us just prefer the old school ways.

Dinosaurs are among us 😜

It is most appreciated. I'm doing this in the middle of moving so am sneaking in time to get this to Adraco.

From your description it sounds like it is running Windows 8. Install a program called classic shell and you'll get the old regular windows start menu back. Windows 8 was awful.

HairyChick 08-02-2017 03:47 AM

It came preloaded with 10. My regular laptop upgraded to 10.3 I think and has the old school program gifs. I'll check out your recommendation later, thanks

Oracle Porn 08-02-2017 04:31 AM

Windows 10 is not that much different from windows 7, I just recently upgraded from 7 to 10, in some ways its more efficient.
