Ever get calls do your business phone from some one asking to verify your address?
 

I get these every once in a while to my retail store...I ask them who they are and why they need to verify my address and they always give some company name I have never heard of and instead of a reason just repeat the question. I just hang up on them. Nothing good every came from verifying your address...usually means they will try to ship you something and charge you for it.

The biggest scammers are the companies that sell credit card machine thermal paper. They will call our employees and lie to them and say we ordered something and they just need to verify our address. Then they record the employee saying the address, and they try to use the recording later as proof that we ordered something.

I got one to dontate money to the local police and when I asked him to send me information to look it over he hung up on me.

Scam. You did good to just hang up on them.

Interesting, I just got a call on my cell a bit ago -- was a telemarketing call for my son and they wanted me to verify my address when I told them to stop calling.

Give them the address of your local church.
