Bad ass! He never did say what kind of gas milage that thing would get? only water consumption......very cool car!

That's the best part, the mileage is obscenely good. I've been reading up on these machines and there were models averaging 110 mpg. Just let that sink it that there were cars in the 20s' that got 110mpg. The secret seems to be that they had closed combustion systems (zero emissions - complete burning). Plus they had an enormous amount of power!

However the reason they failed was because the amount of work and mechanical skill required of the driver. For the most part you couldn't just get in the car and turn a key then go.

i see what you mean, people don't even wanna drive stick anymore... I'm sure if they stuck to this technology they could have simplified the driving experience. I didn't watch the whole thing but did he ever mention HP & torque numbers?

No but in 1906 many steam cars were clocked at 120 mph. Compared to a 1908 model T that reached a top speed of 45 mph and had 50 hp.

150 hp....1000 ftp torque!!! Direct drive, no transmission, very impressive!
