Sueing a Register?

If someone stole my domain and or the register did a major fuck up and I lost it. Why would you not sue the register? Has anyone done this before?

I once had a webmaster who told me he would tell all his friends not to accept my galleries and not trade traffic with me and I thought about suing him for antitrust to see what the courts would do.

Check recent news reports about sex.com's lawsuit against Network Solutions. It's never been done successfully, and sex.com's case will probably set the legal precedent. The main reason against suing is it will probably cost well over $100K in legal fees and several years work to successfully try it, and success is far from guaranteed.
