Congress aproves Russia santions... Will Trump ?

As I had mentioned on a thread June 28,
https://gfy.com/fucking-around-and-pr...l#post21858808

NY Times is reporting that Congress will pass additional sanctions on Russia for the meddling of the US elections in 2016.
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/22/u...ns-russia.html

Yes, telling times are a com'n....
I believe he will sign it. It would be brutal for himself to veto.
Especially if there are enough votes to over-ride it.
He could veto and say that the sanctions are not tough enough on Iran which is also included in the legislation. ( a likely option )

Unless he really thinks he can pardon himself !

It was the tough sanctions for Crimea imposed by Obama that were targeting the Russian MOB and not the people of Russia that affected Trumps biz with the Russian money laundering. So it just makes this a good entertainment session.

When (not if) Trump falls, the GOP will blame everything on him to save face with the voters as blaming Obama is falling short at this point and Pence is already 'their man'.
The question is, will they be able to delay the final fall-out till after the mid-terms.
I doubt trumps tweets will allow them the time. They may need to save face before the mid-terms.

Very clever packaging of a sanctions bill that has bipartisan support.

Trump has a choice here -- America First or Trump First.

i think none of us two will bet for the first option :-)

USA are the ones that everyone else should put sanctions on

Barry-xlovecam 07-23-2017 03:55 AM

^^^
1. The world cannot afford the cost.
2. That would only be in support of Trump's xenophobia and nationalism.

It amounts to cutting your nose off to spite your face -- usually a bad move.

This is the difficulty, everyone would need to gang up together, because sanctions are an act of war in themselves. US interferes with everyone's elections, so they are the ones who really deserve punishment, nobody else, but as you point out it ain't going to happen.

thatīs right but trump changed here already a lot - and what he have changed is NOT in favor of USA.

he forced the rest of the world to unite in questions of trade, environment, war deccisons and much more.

the world know that he is not reliable and what he says today can be opposite tomorrow.

who wants to alliance with such a nightmare?

in europe there was this right move also but since trump it is gone.
even EU is more united as they have been before and they learned what will happen to a country with the devil on itīs thrown.

US have already build the biggest wall in their history - even when the wall to mexico is not done yet (and will never be done).
this is the wall of obvious populism, protectionism and short term thinking.

the world will change from now on day by day and USA has jumped of this train into future because they are still in the dream that oil will make the world go round.

but oil will play a smaller role day by day and thatīs good because it will prevent wars around oil and fossile energy.
in 20 years USA will sit on the largest stock fossile energy and the biggest pipelines for a product what nobody wants anymore.

but 20 years for trump means it is a time when he will not live anymore.
that is why he does only care things what are profitable for him in his lifetime.
he gives a fuck on the time after him.

It is not so important. Most important to break US power structure. From presidential to the Parliamentary structure. After it will easy buy congressmen's, give all 500 guys 1 000 000$ and all problem solved )) Now Congress tried capture power in foreign policy and in external defense and even in sanction(foreign economy policy).

Congress claws back power from Trump
The budget agreement includes several provisions designed to rein in the president.

But with the other, less-noticed provisions, Congress is also asserting itself as a counterweight to the authority of the commander in chief. The omnibus funding bill strikes at Trump the most when it comes to foreign policy and national defense — an arena where he’s espoused unorthodox views outside the mainstream of both parties.

Obama sanctions targeted those who make money from the offense.
Those sanctions came at the advice of Putin/Russian opposition.
Yes it does have a effect on people. How could it not.
But they had the most impact on the money machine profiting from it. Limiting the growth.
And obviously, it had a major effect.

'Who Will We Blame For Genocide Then?' Ukraine's Depopulation Gets Poles Anxious

The UN's recent population prognoses make worrying reading for Poles; after being disturbed by the forecast sharp fall in the Polish population, they have turned their attention to the "turbo-depopulation" of neighboring Ukraine, which could have serious geopolitical consequences.

The latest UN population forecasts make for grim reading in Poland, which forecast that the country's population will shrink by 44 percent to just over 21 million by the end of the century. By 2050, Polish society will be one of the oldest in the EU, with a median age of 50, the fifth-highest in the bloc.

Indeed, the demographic projections of neighboring Ukraine are a bigger problem for Poland than the falling number of Poles, Polish military expert Andrzey Talaga, director of strategy at Warsaw Enterprise Institute, warned in an op-ed piece for Poland's Rzeczpospolita daily.

"The situation in Ukraine looks fatal. The UN placed it along with Poland in the group of countries most at risk from depopulation. We have similarly very low birthrates. However, there are so many differences between our countries that the consequences of depopulation for Ukraine will be quite different," Talaga wrote.

Did the American got so retarded that even their insane president has enough brains to veto this stupidity while they are singing dixie over the Soviet Union which does not exist for almost 30 years....?

....it is hard to say which side is more stupid, but hey dumb and dumber is American congress and the senate new motto.

Well, if Putin and his gang are making 200% now via other means since most of the targeted sanctions 'froze' assets, so they can't get to the money here and perhaps some of the EU . Hence cutting off Trump's Launder-mat.
...

But Trump still seems hell bent on getting rid of Obama's sanctions as well as the new sanctions in some kind of deal. He has mentioned it many times in a low-key way.
Wish I knew what that was, but he has to sell it to Congress... So I guess we will find out sometime.

?The administration is supportive of being tough on Russia, particularly in putting these sanctions in place,? Sanders said. ?The original piece of legislation was poorly written, but we were able to work with the House and Senate, and the administration is happy with the ability to do that and make those changes that were necessary, and we support where the legislation is now.?

She continued: ?We will continue working with the House and Senate to put those tough sanctions in place on Russia until the situation in Ukraine is fully resolved.?

The incoming White House communications director contradicted Trump’s top spokeswoman and his lawyer on two key issues.

Scaramucci rebutted Sanders’ account. Appearing on CNN’s State of the Union, Scaramucci said “it’s my second or third day on the job” but “[Trump] hasn’t made the decision yet to sign that bill one way or the other.”

This is a losing situation no matter how he decides.

If he signs it, then he has to worry about Putin unleashing Trump's dirty secrets, or whatever the fuck he has on Trump to make him swing off Putin's nutsack.

If he doesn't sign it....that might actually be the best path. Republicans haven't turned on him yet, so I don't expect it top happen when he thinks Russia should get a free pass for doing what they did.

Switzerland had approved sanction after one week after EU. They had wait when Putin withdraw money into Asia, Singapore. As I hear it Monaco not approve sanction too.
