Body shaming

I've been a cam model for a few years now and I got all the body shaming a girl can get. From being called ugly, calling me a gypsy bc I have a broader nose, to people saying I'm either too fat or too skinny blah blah.
But in the last months, I saw and heard from other cam models that there are so many trolls body shaming models on the cam sites.
Is there a challenge with this? The award goes to the one that makes the girl fall into depression?
Wtf is wrong with the world today?
Have any of you experienced this?
And I'm not interested in your wannabe smart ass replies, this is a real thing.

I believe some people, losers, get a "high" from trying to bully others, press others down. If their own life is miserable, at least they can tell someone else that they are even more ugly, fat or anything such, than themselves. Feeding off of spreading misery for others.

nico-t 07-21-2017 02:56 AM

I cannot stand the term "body shaming". It has such a whine to it, it's one of those highly annoying phrases invented by social justice warriors. It sounds so timid and submissive, creating a generation of sissies.

Just call it "insults" like a regular person. And yes, people who are insulting cam models have nothing better to do, so they are most likely ugly losers or schoolkids in puberty (people who have time for that must have a lot of free time on their hands that they waste, plus they're childish -> conclusion: schoolkids).

So i wouldn't take it seriously or worry about it.

Manfap 07-21-2017 03:09 AM

anonymous teenagers who shouldn't be on the site in the first place probably make up 80% of the trolls.

I call it body shaming because in the last years people get easily offended by terms so I try to be politically correct.
I understand where you're coming from with the " don't take it seriously" but it's bullying and right now a lot of ppl don't understand how bad that is for someone. It's fucking crushing to have someone tell you everyday that you are ugly, small, fat, too thin etc..

Isn't that some sort of occupational hazard? If your main goal in adult modeling is to fish for compliments, you are doing it wrong.

Tjeezers 07-21-2017 04:38 AM

Body shaming is very insulting and it does not contribute to a healthy conversation, taken into mind that you are aware of your own body and there is nothing wrong with it, then you could logical assume the person doing it is not a cool person. ( Sometimes women do it to other women on cam pretending to be a men to learn from YOUR responses how to protect themselves from being shamed )

Many guys provoke on this way a conversation, and act out on a girl. Probably some frustration from their side and they act it out on you. They might have many reasons to be frustrated, maybe their own women is not as beautiful and they want to shame you to re-appreciate their own partner? There are thousands of reasons and no need to worry about this. Sad we created a platform for these idiots to act out, but lucky we have BANNING options and so on. Sorry to hear that the quality of our traffic contains idiots and mongols who have no respect for women. I also blame the younger generation of visitors for being like this, they lose respect for women so easy. :(

Hi there Devious,
Yes, I'm familiar with your work and Studio 20. I create mainstream content featuring adult talent and I think an in-depth, online interview with you on this subject would definitely be interesting and insightful for my "The X Profiles" series viewers.

If you're interested drop me a line via contact(at)TheXProfiles.com and we meet over a recorded video chat and talk about this theme. I'll promote your business as much (or little) as you like in return. I have thousands of subscribers over several platforms and the content is free to view, so no monetary elements involved--just Edutainment.

Just a thought!
Cheers,
Craig

If you're that sensitive to criticism...perhaps you're in the wrong line of work.

Grow some thicker skin and ignore them. Or use a little creative psychology...fuck with their heads and turn the tables.

My goal is not to fish for compliments, in no way.
I know the reasons why I became a cam model.
Being seen as an occupational hazard is just wrong.
So if I want to be a cam model I should expect people to talk shit just because they are behind a monitor? That's so wrong.
If you don't like something just move on.. why would someone feel the need to talk badly about someone?

Hi Devious Angel,

My company used to run cam studios. We had some drop-dead georgous models, some amateurs, some BBW's and a few other niches. I saw all kinds of things, including body shaming of the worst kind, to ALL of the models.

One day I decided to call one of the customers by phone while he was doing this. It was a really interesting call.

First, he apologized because he didn't want to lose his account. I brushed that aside though and tried to get into his head. My main question to him was "Why", which I asked in various, calm ways.

His answers started with "She was mean to me" (She wasn't), to "She didn't do what I wanted her to do, that one time, last month...(mumble mumble)" (He never took her to private chat).

Eventually his excuses gave way to the real truths:

- He loved her
- He wanted her for himself
- He wanted to meet her.
- His wife left him (and he now hates all women)
- He can't meet women because he is socially awkward.
- He feels shame.
- Etc...

There's more, but you get the idea. I talked to this guy for about 40 minutes and it was really interesting. The guy was in pain, and didn't understand why.

When I asked him "If you like this model, why are you trying to hurt her?", the guy actually started crying, and couldn't answer the question.

I think that men who like cams and cam girls fall into several categories. Some understand that its entertainment, pay for some thrills, then leave. They have no intention of changing their lives around beyond 20 minutes of jerk-off fun.

Smart Cam Girls know though that the real money is with the whales, and that they capture the whales by creating very personal relationships, hinting at a personal meeting one day. Toying with emotions can result in a huge payoff for the model, but devastation for the client.

I'm sorry to hear you were body shamed, but I think the best thing you can do is to just ignore it. You are who you are and your body is your body. Your clients like you enough to pay you for the privilege of spending time with you via webcam, and that's awesome. Enjoy that, and ignore the rest.

bronco67 07-21-2017 07:09 AM

Most guys who do this sort of thing hate women because they feel mistreated by them in some way -- whether real or just perceived. There was a recent incident at my gym where one of my friends was called a bitch for hogging a squat rack. This is a guy I've talked to several times, and guess what his favorite subject of conversation was....

He was so tired of all the shit beautiful girls get away with and basically women are evil.

Spunky 07-21-2017 07:13 AM

Don't let the homos get to you. They probably couldn't get a woman anyways

Bladewire 07-21-2017 07:32 AM

Cam girls need to be taught visualization tools to cope with trolls, some psychological tricks as well.

Fact: a troll has nothing to do with his victim. A trolls victim is a means to an end for his own psychological needs. You can put a cartoon female on the screen in front of a troll and that troll will make up flaws and rip her to shreds.

Fact: A troll is a broken record playing out his scenario in a planned loop. Once his victim responds (verbally or visually) the troll moves to the next step, then the next, etc. He might not even be conscious of his pathology. Once you know this, you know that nothing you say or do matters you can't fix a broken record and you can't listen to a broken record.

Fact: Other people in a room barely notice a trolls attack after he's booted. A troll can't take down the mood of a room because you are the magic, you are the focus. Focus on things that will make you money. Going down the rabbit hole won't make you money. Positive vibes, and entertaining, make you money.

Devious_Angel: I was insulted today by my cam client.
Somebody: You offended me, you should have said "I was body shamed today by my cam client"

I mean really?

I am first to hate on PC culture and make fun of people being offended by nothings, but even I can not imagine anybody being offended by you using "insult" over "body shaming".
That is just impossible by any stretch :1orglaugh

as a studio boss I could never understand why models pay any attention to what customers say to them over chat...I have had models break down in tears because some 13 year old kid with his moms credit card called them ugly or whatever...you have to keep in mind that 90% of the insults you get are out of pure boredom...I insult people regularly, I am also a troll...I do not do it to really hurt somebody, I just find it amusing...

If I was to tell you you look like a gypsy it would mean absolutely nothing at all...you could tell me I am a 3rd world monkey and I would laugh...

the problem is you...it is not them...you are taking shit seriously LOL

the other 10% are just assholes and their opinion is equally as worthless as mine...

Everything that permits the general public to participate eventually turns into a shit hole of dumb fucks looking for 30seconds of attention. The good news is that from my experience eventually that whatever the venue is turns in on itself and collapses. So it looks to me that's what's happening now with the Internet.

Give it a couple of more years and the Internet will drastically change.

Definitely doesn't excuse their behaviour. What I found interesting though is that people and events made him into an ass, and that people like him "become" their own worst enemy. Whether they realize it or not, and whether they do something about it or not, is up to them.

Devious Angel, I have it here, whether being called names, images displayed of older women or ridiculous tents, I take it meaning big pussy...

no matter, I know i´ve very soft skin, a lovely tight pussy and natural tits. I look younger than my real age and i´m living my life here in Spain, happy not to claim from benefits and earn my own loving.

Don´t worry about 1 in 50 being a dick, enjoy the other 49...

That's so fucked. So the client gets strung along by a cam girl for months, often getting into debt as a result, while the cam model, cam network and affiliate all are laughing all the way to the bank. Then one day client realizes he has been taken advantage of, gets depressed, starts hating women, etc, completely fucking up his life for the next few years. :helpme

I agree. If a girl can't let shitty opinions from sad people roll off her back, then she probably should choose another profession. Just because some limp dick asshole calls you fat, doesn't make it true. Or maybe it is true, but why take it personally considering the fact that it comes from a guy who has to pay a girl to talk with him. A girl should be able to figure out that she has the power in the situation.

That's exactly right. Fantasy is powerful.

Then again, I know many end users that I have talked to personally and even met in person, who are more than happy to have relationships like this. The each spend upwards of $30k a year, with one person spending almost $60k a year, video-chatting with their favourite models.

One of them is in his 70's. He lost his wife about 10 years ago and stays mostly at home. He only chats with models who look like or remind him of his wife. What he's into is pretty kinky by my standards, but he's a super-nice guy who now lives alot of his life online. He's another one who is more than happy to pay, alot, for the services he gets.
