Hosting alternative

I am looking for a hosting company that doesn't have contracts and monthly fees, just pay for the bandwidth you use.

Is there any?

I wouldn't be surprised if some hosts would be wlling to work out a deal like that with you. At the very least, places will happily move you to the appropriate hosting plan each month.

he said, "no contracts"

the_lemur 04-22-2003 05:18 AM

when i think of agreeing to a contract, i think of- agreeing to their terms of service and privacy policy. i don't see why you wouldn't agree to that if they're going to host your site.

a contract that has a pre-determined length of service agreement might be different tho

what type of contract are you trying to avoid?

:2 cents:

I want to avoid a pre-determined length contract, so I don't have to stay with that host for 1 year or a few months, and I don't know how much traffic I will use so it's more likely to only pay for the bandwith I use than having a strict plan.

I assumed that by "contract" you meant minimum term. As far as I know, there are plenty of hosts that do not require you to sign anything saying you will stay for a certain amount of time.

Swift Communications can provide that for you. There are a few rules however.

1. you pay up front.
2. if you pay for 25gigs or 5mbps and start using 6000gigs , 20mbps, etc . you pay immediately for the rest, or we have to shut you down.

3. 30 days cancellation notice.

4. NO SPAM. NO EMAILERS. Doesnt matter if its legit or not. all email hahahaha trouble. This includes no jump pages for spam from other sites.

We can bill you on capped, 95.5 , burstable or /per gig usage.

You can contact us at http://www.swiftco.net
