Have you ever been immobilized by drugs?

One time a friend and I had to go out of town together for business. That night after work, he busted out this bag of spectacular weed. It was bright green, had the crystal looking flakeys in it and the red hairs.

It didn't take much of that shit...we shared one bowl together and then went to the restaurant next to our hotel. I ate a full dinner and 2 appetizer platters. When we got back to our room, I ate 4 candy bars and drank a 6 pack of surge. (In case you don't know, that's like Mt.Dew on roids)

After running out of money at the vending machine, we smoked another bowl. Within 15 minutes, I was face down on my bed laying on my arm. My eyes were open and focused on my bedspread and I could hear fine. But I couldn't fucking move!

I layed there for about 45 minutes before I could pull my cramped arm out from under me and move my face out of the drool. My buddy wasn't in any better shape than me.

I've never experienced anything like that, it must have been some fucked up shit.

ANY IDEAS????
:helpme

Gutterboy 04-20-2003 11:23 PM

Sounds like you got some *really* good indica bud. That shit will make you catatonic.. its the sativa strains that give the clearheaded high.

I got myself in a similar state once on some indica, only I was laying face up with my eyes open. I remember my eyes started to get dry and it took an almost heroic force of will to summon the energy to blink.

great shit tho :thumbsup

teas0r 04-20-2003 11:26 PM

When I was a senior in high school I lived with my girlfriend. One night her mom's boyfriend asked me if I wanted to ride with him to pick up the christmas tree stand from his place and i said cool and we left. I had already been drinking (vodka most likely) and after we got a couple miles down the road he pulled out a hand-carved wooden pipe and said "my buddy just got some northern lights" :thumbsup i just grinned and thought to myself... "awesome"

so we get back to my girlfriends with the christmas tree stand, i go back to my bedroom where everyone's hanging out... just grinning at everyone ear to ear. sat down on my knees in the middle of the floor and the next thing i know my head is on the ground and i can't get up. so i just sat there face down on the floor laughing at everyone for about 10 minutes, and then eventually rolled onto my side and pulled myself over to the bed. Good times... :winkwink:

nofx 04-20-2003 11:39 PM

Yea, I've had some simaler experiences. When I smoke blueberry, northern lights x haze, or columbia gold strains, I get really sensory sensitive. I feel real cold all over and move real slow. Its a great feeling. I've never not been able to move before though...

MuleScrote 04-20-2003 11:49 PM

Well, as Gutterboy put it, it's a catatonic state. That is the only time I experienced such a loss of function.

I was too fucked up to be scared though :winkwink:

quiet 04-20-2003 11:56 PM

yeah, something like that. happened on two seperate occasions while smoking some very fucked up pot (same bag) around 4 years ago. just sitting there and not being able to will anything to move. full on audio hallucinations. basically no idea of where you are in relation to the world... ie unable to judge space and distance *at all*.

only happened those two times though. lot's o fun.

nothern lights...mmmm. that was the first stuff i ever smoked-kinda made everything else a lil dissapointing...k

teas0r 04-21-2003 12:04 AM

you know what is scary as hell...? sleep paralisys.

i woke up one night, could not open my eyes. tried to move my arm... nothing. tried to move *anything*, nothing. i started to panic and i wanted to scream... i tried to scream but i couldn't do ANYTHING! It's like my brain was the only thing that was awake, and it is one of the most helpless feelings i have ever experienced.

Shit! That sounds worse than what I went through. I didn't loose any spacial judgement, but I couldn't move my eyeballs to look around.

bhutocracy 04-21-2003 12:05 AM

Once, with really good shit.
smoked some in a mates car and Hendrix's Foxy Lady was playing - I couldn't work out what it was though because the visual representation of the main riff and music was too distracting from the recognition of the song as a whole, it was like looking at a moving painting of the song, and having to take a step back and read the title to work out what it was.. I got home and we all sat down at a table and just didn't move for like 20 minutes - almost couldn't move.. Chinese dragons flying and spinning when I closed my eyes. Stared at the woodgrain forever. good stuff.

I wish I could smoke and not move

MikeEP 04-21-2003 12:38 AM

I don't know what i smoked at this party, (since i never smoke weed) but what the hell...i gave it whirl.

I fell into a chair and my buddy of mine who also smoked out, was sitting in another chair across for me.

He was just staring and not moving at all. I spent the whole time staring at him in awe, wondering what the fuck he was staring at. So now we both were staring. I remember trying to move, but couldn't. Very weird.

Then he slightly moved. I was in shock cause i didn't expect it. Then the fucker asked "can i have a piece of wood." Oh man...wtf does that mean and what could he possibly be thinking to ask for a fucking piece of wood. I fell out of my chair and laughed so hard i nearly puked. I guess all i needed to be able to move was someone to snap me out of it. Then realized its been about an hour and a half since we sat down..which only felt like 10 minutes.

Then this chick put me into some bed. While laying there, i literally felt gravity pulling me down. I thought i was going to pull me through the mattress, then the floor, then the ground, etc...cause the strength of the gravity was incredibly strong. It almost felt painful cause i thought i was being crushed, but there was no pain.

Interesting shit. :1orglaugh

I felt that too!! That's some fucked up shit :warning

RedShoe 04-21-2003 01:33 AM

I think I had that Indica stuff once. We were sitting on the floor leaning against the couch, and it felt like I was going to fall over backwards, (even though I was leaning against a couch). It felt like I was constantly falling backwards. It's a weird feeling.

I thought that I should make my way over to the bathroom, just in case I need to pee, or vomit (but I didn't feel like I needed to vomit) so I started to crawl over towards the bathroom. About half way there, I kinda crashed, and I remember laying there, looking at my right arm. I was totally immobilized.

I didn't feel to high, just a little buzzed, but I couldn't remember how to make my arm move. I didn't feel like I lost strength, but it felt like my muscles were no longer responding.

The next day I woke up in the exact same position. I must have passed out at some point.

MuleScrote 04-21-2003 10:30 PM

Yo Redshoe...you sig causes flashbacks!

the first time when I hit ganja out of my friend's ROOR water bong (hot water & lots of ice), the shit hit me so hard, I was laying on the ground, unable to move, but I had the constant feeling of floating, although I laid on flat concrete. cool feeling.

sandz 04-21-2003 10:38 PM

i once went to a mates place and smoked a hella lot of weed, basically we went and sat in this park and were unable to move for hours.. we freaked out when someone yelled out "oi" in our direction - this is at around 2am, but we were unable to move let alone even talk!

the girls who were in the park came over and we gave them some and pretty soon they too were unable to move.. was so fucking cold thats about all i remember - i think being cold and the surroundings have a lot to do with the 'paralysed' type reaction

the_lemur 04-21-2003 10:38 PM

At this one party I did a "downerTypeDrug". The next night I drank a beer and took a single puff of some cronic. Next thing I know... I'm waking up. I had been lying on the floor for 10 minutes.

heh, well, it _was_ K. (the downertypedrug) some good shit too. i just haven't noticed people mentioning stuff other than pot. so i didn't want to seem like a crakhed.

kmanrox 04-22-2003 04:25 AM

4 years ago i was presented with a mirror of white powder on it... i was told it was this 'k' thing.... not coke... so i didnt feel like a druggie (back then, coke and heavy drugs i thought of as very bad).. anyhow, not ever seeing what a 'line' of drugs looked like, they cut 2 thin K lines and left the rest of the vile in one bigger line... well having no perception of a 'big' line or a 'too big line' or a 'almost the entire vile' big line.... i was handed the mirror, and told just snort it... i did

the BIG LINE!!!!! my friends looked, and said holy shit, you didnt really do that big line did you? i said... uhh yeah....

they both grabbed me, and drug me to my room like i was an inmate and said 'duuuude, you're about to go into a SERIOUS K-hole'.... i start freakin out cuz it was the first 'bad' drug that id ever tried and these seasoned pros were looking like they were bringing a deadman to his bed....

that was one of the weirdest highs i ever had... the visuals were amazing, the audio even more amazing... i literally saw the world as Silly Putty, getting stretched left and right and twisted, heard thru an echo soundbox like from a far tunnel.... i was swimming in my bed they told me, i couldnt willfully move.... they were trying to give me the supposed antidote, sugar-water, and i couldnt even pick up my hands to drink it, let alone my mouth, i dont know how they got it into my mouth without me choking, but i remember them yelling at me to drink and move my lips....

fucking one of the scariest days of my life..... but when i came to, i was fine... partied on =)

the whole

Jakke PNG 04-22-2003 04:52 AM

A bit over a year ago, we were at my friends summer cottage. I'd been drinking from like 9am, and then at 7pm or so I smoked some seriously good stuff. Next thing I know, I'm laying on my back in the middle of the forest. Staring at the wood tops and sky. I couldn't move. The next thing I realized after that, I threw up. I didn't know why, I didn't feel bad. heheh. :)
The next morning my friends said that they'd been pushing my stomach as I laid there on my back. Thank god my head was slightly sideways, otherwise I could have choked on my own vomit (that would have been a big loss, wouldn't it?). :)

Too many times to recount them all.

The ultimate was when I was in junior high, our school was overcrowded so they took 50 of us and put us in the high school for the 9th grade. My best friends were all seniors and we went out one day and smoked some grade A shit in my buddy's truck while we were driving around. Hell, it could have been dog guts and I would have smoked it back then.

About fifteen minutes later we got it in our heads that we were really fucking thirsty. We stopped at a little grocery store about 2 miles from my house and it was decided, by the all knowing seniors, that I should take the pilgrimage into the store for beverage. Now, I had been in this store about 17,000 times but, being in the condition that I was in, I could not for the life of me find the drinks. I figured my best bet was to ask the cashier.

As I was standing in line at the counter I looked down and spotted a big cooler in the shape of a can filled with ice and cokes floating around in it. Well, this was my lucky day. I reached in to grab a soda and the water felt so good that I kindof got caught in the moment with my arm up to my elbow in ice water.

In this state of exctasy, I looked over at the guy in front of me and he had his little girl sitting on the counter in front of him. He was talking all baby talk to her. He was wearing like a white tennis outfit, slicked back hair, a goatee, and all this pansy ass gold jewelry on. I thought to myself "man, this guy is a fruit loop" and no sooner did I think that then everyone turned around and stared at me. My last semi-coherent thought before I fell to the floor was: did I say that out loud?

So here I am laying on the floor of some grocery store with my arm half frozen and people running around in a state of panic. I could not move a muscle. I was totally fucked up. I could hear everthing fine. I had my eyes open but I could not see a damn thing. It was like there was some big cloud over my eyes.

I felt someone put their hands on my chest and say "His heart is racing a hundred miles a minute" and someone else said "call an ambulance". I was thinking that I hoped it was not the fruit at the counter feeling up my chest. About that time, I hear this very familiar voice say "That is my son".

Sure enough, my dad had picked that very day to stop and get bread or some shit on his way home from work only to walk in and see a crowd of people gathered around his drugged up son in a catatonic state on the floor.

There is more to the story but this shit is long enough. Needless to say, my dad got me up and home somehow. I remember the sensation of floating but, like I said, I could not see shit and there was no way I could have walked. I only assume that he carried my ass out of there before the ambulance showed up. The cool part was that he never mentioned a word to me about it afterwards.

heheheh... damn.
kman's story was great too..

In terms of mind-body fuck, I think mushrooms have been the strongest for me, I once had so many I couldn't talk. I knew the meaning of existence... but I couldn't actually physically vocalise the words.. it was like : "wait, wait, wait - bleurgh." "no - no.. blearug." then we chilled out on the beach listening to a dictaphone with a pshychiatrist or someone on it talking about mental states and cognitive process. It was heaven. Science and psychoactives.. I once sort of gently collapsed to the floor because I felt I was like an electron reaching it's lowest energy potential. haha.. memories.. aahhhhhh the folly of youth..

good stuff to do at some point in your life as long as you get over it or are disciplined enough to do it very very rarely.

the_lemur 04-22-2003 05:23 AM

have you ever listened to 'Terence McKenna' while on shrooms? that is fukt up sheet

Gunni 04-22-2003 06:11 AM

Me and my friend ate some mushrooms once, it made all colours look really strange, sort of like they were all mixing together in a whirlpool. And even my friend looked green and then started changing to purple and blue. Then he started to laugh and I got convinced he was getting crazy from the mushrooms. I mean why else would he change colours, or that was what I thought. I didnīt think much about it, just thought Iīd tell him to go see a shrink the next day or something.

Later his girlfriend drove us to a party, and I for some reason thought that smoking a spliff I had would be a good idea (still pretty fucked up from the mushrooms), so I smoked a few drags of it, and then I wanted to have another drag but I couldnīt lift my hand to my mouth. I started laughing like a madman, and they of course wanted to know what was so funny, so I told them I couldnīt move, so my friend screems at his girlfriend to stop the car, he gets out and just starts walking away, along side the road. I still couldnīt move, but I could speak so I ask him where the fuck heīs going, but then he starts running. The girlfriend dives after him and we ask whatīs wrong, and he says that he canīt stop walking, if he stops then heīll never be able to walk again, we try to convince him that itīs okay for about half an hour but he doesnīt belive us. So she drives me to the party, and some friend litterrally help me getting in the house and sit me on a sofa. My friends girlfriense goes after my friend again and they return after about an hour, he still walking, and was convinced that it had only taken him about five minutes.
Right after that I started to be able to move again, had a few drinks, and passed out :smokin

Triple 6 04-22-2003 06:34 AM

Drugs. Hmm.

I almost died on LSD. I think. I could swear I almost died.

Ever hear that a 'silver cord' ties our soul to our physical body, and if it breaks, well, your dead? That could be true, I dunno...

I was having a very bad trip. My friend just left, school was starting within hours, I started getting paranoid and then I couldnt control a damn thing going on in my mind. All sorts of odd things would pop in my head that had nothing to with anything I was thinking.. I thought to myself that I was actually experiencing going 'insane' and I might be very well fucked for good. At one point, I had the phone in my hand, one number away from dialing 911. I just wanted it to stop.

I kept telling myself 'its only a drug, its temporary, i will be ok after i sleep'. I started to drift off.. not exactly sleep I would say, I actually felt like I was drifting. I all of a sudden felt really calm and at peace. I stopped seeing all kinds of weird shit and felt like I was going somewhere. Then I had this 'feeling' that something is restricting me from going where I was going, and I had this weird notion that I was about to die and my 'cord' that connected me soul to my body was reaching its limits and was about to snap. When I had thought this, I freaked the fuck out and 'woke up', but the odd thing was that when I woke up (not even sure i f iwas sleeping or dieing or what), it felt like a 'snap', or a shock. It actually hurt. I cant explain it really good... sorta like a rubber band type of 'snap' I guess. I was afraid as fuck to go to sleep after thaT. And from what I have read about NDE's and astral projection, a 'snap' effect sometimes happens to people who experience NDE or atral projection and are returning to their bodies. Odd.

So I dont know what the fuck really happened, but I sure as fuck felt immobilized. Needless to say, I never had LSD again.

:thumbsup

Check this out -- I'm chilling on public radio, and this very old latin chanting type stuff comes on -- while the voices were incredible -- it was only until I realized that I could "see" with my ears the space inside of the church where the music was recorded -- that I really started to get excited... As far as not being able to move -- there have been times when I wouldn't want to move -- deep in fucking concentration -- but if someone were to look at me in that state I may seem to be in pain... but mostly just living under the rigor of intense thought -- it requires a lot of energy. Anyway damn 6 cans of Surge that's messed up! I'll have to try that one day.
