better to put the price or NOT ?

is it better to put the price BEFORE the join links OR NOT, eg let them click through to the credit card page first before showing the price at this point they probably have their CC ready and decided to purchase...

I think it depends on the price, on my sites I don't put the price
as I don't offer trials, just straight to the monthly.
I do put a less than $1 a day on the tour though.

If I offered a cheap trial I'd put the price on the tour.

the reason why to pay a porn site is not a "good price" so I think it doesn't matter at all

Don't show the price anywhere, I heard that's the way to go! :uhoh

Exactly....

If the sponsor is any good the sponsor's tour will get the guy hot, hard and badly wanting to get his card out to see inside. Hitting them for money when they're still 'cold' (ie they have no real idea what the site offers) is never a good idea.

There can be exceptions. Something like 'Go and see hardcore streaming movies for a dollar' for a dollar join site can work. Tends to be the exception rather than rule though.

if you put the price in the ads, you'll cut down on traffic sent to the sponsor/join page, but your ratios will usually be pretty damn good

try it both ways - no law against multiple tours

It really depends on the price. If its super cheap put the price up, if not dont!

Rictor 04-19-2003 10:14 AM

If you've got a free trial, put the price. Heh. :Graucho

Exactly. Ppc ads are another place where putting the price can be a good idea. Generally though it may improve ratios but overall it will simply lower sales.

I meant put the PRICE On the JOIN PAGE... eg http://www.attractsexywomen.com/join_today.html

its says the price B4 they click the Credit card join, wondered if it affected sales doing it that way or better if didnt mention price and then they click the CC link it mentions there.

ah :)

I've always found it works better with the price IF the tour is good. Best bet is like the post above says - try both and see which converts better.

I agree that if the tour is good enough the surfer will want in at any cost, but if the price is set higher than other sites, they may pass it up any way.

If your asking $1 to get in then yes show the price.

ZoiNk 04-19-2003 11:36 AM

It depends on your traffic whether it will HELP or harm. My traffic does much better when it knows the price. Better conversions and more total signups when the price is listed, esp when you have to enter info before they hit the real signup page. If it isn't listed, it is FUCKING hard to get my main traffic sources to convert. But if it is a single join page (like most revshare have), then it doesn't really matter either way.

if you put the trial price in the tour and someday you want to change it < it's a giant pain in the ass

let the tour do the selling then when they get to the join page flash them the price.

baddog 04-19-2003 12:43 PM

If you put the price be prepared to have to change every page if the price changes
