google update?

I just noticed.. for any adult query on google, I get 90 results
Page 10 of results shows that "try searching with omitted... blabla"

Since when is it like that? I kinda feel like my traffic is dropping because of it, long tail keywords and such are lost in the sea...

Anyone else having it similar?

Bladewire 05-22-2017 12:23 PM

If you give an example I can see if I get the same results here.

If you do a lot of searching Google starts limiting results, and switching things up. I've had Google ask if I was a robot before and had to verify :1orglaugh

ANY porn related query I tried, from "milf sex" to more complex ones, gives only 90 results for me. Try it out.

cybermike 05-22-2017 12:40 PM

Been like that for a while depending on what you are searching for.. also no clue why

Bladewire 05-22-2017 12:40 PM

Interesting

I'm on my phone, it only gave me 70 results

TheDynasty 05-22-2017 12:47 PM

very strange but has happened for a while now

SIK 05-22-2017 12:47 PM

Check this out:

Graph 1. My site - semrush, organic traffic (accurate stats) - look at 17th date

Graph 2. Youporn - semrush, organic traffic (accurate stats) - look at 17th date

Me (aka little guy), losing third or more of organic traffic, while youporn goes up for 1.5 million clicks on the same day :)

Google successfully killing small porn webmasters :)

ZENRA 05-22-2017 12:54 PM

I'm not sure if it's OK to link to another forum directly, but Webmasterworld has a pretty big thread about Google's potential May update. Lots of people are reporting a big drop in traffic since the 17th so you're not alone, SIK.

I know I'm not alone :)

But with this porn search result limits and everything, I'm surprised there isn't anyone talking about it on GFY

This looks like total small site killer to me

Do you think many surfers are really going past the first 10 pages anyway? I bet most stop after the first page or two. I'm not sure if cutting off at 10 and the recent traffic drop are totally related.

Correct. First result gets like 33% of clicks and first page totals at around 90% of all clicks or so, I forgot the exact numbers.

Not totally but definitely very related.
I see some of my lesser keywords are completely dead (and I got a shitload of them).

topadult 05-22-2017 04:05 PM

Yes there was a Google update last week ;)

How do you check this? Google Search Console?

I'd also like to know, since I'm unable to find it - when exactly did google start to limit those search results, as someone above mentioned? Anyone got some link or whatever?

Figured it out, thanks.

Very bizarre. I looked at the top 200 keywords for our site and in terms of positions, they mostly have not changed or barely budged (less than +- 3 positions). What I do notice is regardless of keyword, overall impressions for almost all terms ranges from somewhat lower to drastically lower. My findings were when I compared May 10-13 with May 17-20.

erm.. I believe you're missing the point

click page 10 of results and tell me is it cut off

Barry-xlovecam 05-22-2017 05:35 PM

&num=100

I get 100 results per page
I get 155 results at the top of my second page then the DMCA and duplicate at the end
so 255 total results displayed. Pagination 10 per page by page 3 or 4 the number of referrals are insignificant anyway.

SIK 05-22-2017 05:50 PM

I guess it varies to some degree..

This is what I got when I added &num=100 to the "secretary boss blowjob" query:

https://image.prntscr.com/image/8f4c...f377e4b714.png

one page, 58 results on it, as you see above

Barry-xlovecam 05-22-2017 06:15 PM

IDK I did this as a user not logged in another browser (Chromium Chrome for LINUX)

https://s3.postimg.org/85knqo8s3/11-14goog.jpg

paging 10 results per page i get 11 and 14 ...

Google shows different results to different users and bans your website for doing the same.

What happens when you search milf sex ?

I'm home now and I get 6 pages, one page less than when I was on my phone :1orglaugh

It shows About 20,100,000 results (0.35 seconds) at the top, and 10 pages at the bottom, but when you click it ends up only being 6 pages

SIK 05-22-2017 06:35 PM

I now tried a different computer, not logged in, chrome and firefox..
both show 90 results for "milf sex"

Does it have that show all results link? I remember Big G doing this for years, showing limited results but then you always had the choice of loading more (similar) results.

Maybe I was stoned tho....LOL

Same here. Only 10 pages of results for 'milf sex'.

Freedom6995 05-22-2017 07:17 PM

I get 126 results for milf sex. Are you searching g.com or g.yercountry?

Zeiss 05-22-2017 09:42 PM

Maybe it is temporary because some asshole, who works at Google, wants to get some traffic for a few seconds, make several million, then fix things back up without many people noticing. Just kidding. Have a nice day!

CrazyMartin 05-23-2017 01:46 AM

majestic seo should make own search engine

they have all pages indexed already

someone should break this ridiculous google monopoly

this searchengine becomes useless (especially for porn :) haha)

Zeiss 05-23-2017 01:52 AM

Works for me. Must have been some temporary server, perring, network, crap, whatgooglef***ingevering... :pimp

freecartoonporn 05-23-2017 03:50 AM

i am getting 70 results for milf sex.,

wtf.

Barry-xlovecam 05-23-2017 05:50 AM

With a clean browser and a search of 'milf sex': I only get 90 now. Page 10 is the end of the offered results.

But all the results are indexed -- just click the link to see the results not relevant or in duplicate.

SIK 05-23-2017 07:26 AM

So.. how is traffic on smaller tubes and blogs? Or am I the only one left with few websites here?

Google's goal the last 6 years is aggregation of content type basic searches via 3rd party platforms (Tumblr, Tubes, etc.) Google isn't interested in porn, as we know :1orglaugh

Barry-xlovecam 05-23-2017 08:19 AM

If this is your site (from your sig)-- the branding is OK
So, if you have top-of-the-mind name recognition you're fine.

https://s30.postimg.org/3vxwk1dbl/Sc...3-10-47-17.png

I am working in semantical search because that is what people are saying the newer Google algorithm looks for that as a major ranking factor (people say).

Semantic as in the focus point of what is searched for and not exact word or phrase match only.

SIK 05-23-2017 08:39 AM

Well, my sites are heavily effected. Traffic across network is 40% down.

However, I'm looking at this search result limit thing and it makes no sense to me.
70-90 or so results for some of the most searched porn terms.

Only the biggest tubes and some odd as fuck results (milf sex - #1 for me is a site trading 100% of traffic, makes no sense).

And even if you click "show omitted results" in the end, you'll get tons of results from xvideos and such bigger sites...

Literally... what the fuck? Anyone knows it his search result cap recent or what?

I'm honestly surprised I'm the only one bitching about this, I don't see how others weren't effected at all :)

What are your results on Yahoo & MSN?

Established your presence on third party platforms to compensate for traffic loss.

We have a conservative administration in power now this could be part of phasing out most adult searches on mainstream SE's.

Bladewire 05-23-2017 10:00 AM

Just found this article on a Google Court ruling last month about, amongst other things , what Google has the right to exclude from search results.

Google Wins Some and Loses Some in Florida SEO Case

"The ruling states, ?According to Google, it is immune from liability under the CDA for any actions it took as a publisher, and deciding what content to block or remove from Google?s search engines is quintessentially a publisher action.?

"While the statute was meant to protect children from porn, Google took the ?otherwise objectionable? clause literally as a sort of catch-all to give them broad leeway in de-indexing any website without reason or explanation."

Barry-xlovecam 05-23-2017 10:57 AM

I think I may have read about this some time ago. Because it's affect is after page 3 (result 40) I ignored it. Who searches beyond the top 20 results?

As a consumer I get very good results from Google search -- as a webmaster, if you are not page 1 Google sucks.

Google definitely does not like affiliate sites. Google thinks selling someone else's product is "evil."

Descriptive text of a sponsor's link is no added value in Google search.

The court affirmed Google's Free Speech Rights -- Commercial speech and the right to exclude content for commercial reasons. Twenty-five percent of Google's customers are searching for "adult content." Google is not discriminating against adult content -- Google is returning SERPs of adult content that people give positive algorithmic signals to. Google uses your content to sell AdWords. It's symbiotic.

Google likes tubes because people click on the results and tubes have good onsite statistics. They don't have good SEO for any other reason other than free porn and the name recognition that comes with that. You will never compete with them head on -- you can't. You have to offer some other value than FREE PORN HERE.

In the cam business we have similar problems too. People that spend little money will click where they can see free hardcore cams. People that spend money will click the top listings too. Frustrating, but that is the way it is. Find other ways than Google to get traffic -- diversify.

oppoten 05-23-2017 11:02 AM

Barry = (((Barry Schwartz)))

MKA 05-23-2017 11:09 AM

The ones who lost with the "FRED" update (8th march) are back in the game again since the 17th so they probably are getting your google traffic now.

This is the #1 reason I have never played the SEO game. There is no way to compete with the larger tube sites. They have resources no small company can compete with so why bother?

I have heard of too many webmasters who wake up one morning after a Google update and suddenly their PR1 and PR2 sites have dropped to PR50. No thank you. I never wanted 40% (or more) of my business wiped out overnight because of Big G.

Barry-xlovecam 05-23-2017 12:54 PM

@oppoten,
Too many choices are not freedom -- too many choices are confusion. Google knows this -- so it makes a reasonable compromise.

https://www.ted.com/talks/barry_schw...adox_of_choice
^^Psychologist Barry Schwartz takes aim at a central tenet of western societies: freedom of choice. In Schwartz's estimation, choice has made us not freer but more paralyzed, not happier but more dissatisfied.

Things are different today in an evolving post-industrial society. Segmentation of choice is what matters. No one can be dissatisfied with what they got for free.

Sorry but that makes no sense at all.

Someone narrows our choices so we don't get confused? Yeah, right. That definitely doesn't make the world a better place.

:2 cents:

Not true. It's not about resources it's about SEO knowledge and implementation. There are a handful of ways to get great rankings , fairly quickly, for adult terms that bring in great traffic. People don't talk about them because they'll be destroyed in the current competitive adult SEO environment.
