Trump To Pay For Tax Cuts For The Rich By Slashing Food Stamps, And Social Security Disability

He has gone after the most vulnerable, and now he's going after disabled people.

President Trump?s budget is proposing a $1.7 trillion cut in food stamps, children?s health insurance, Social Security Disability Insurance and other social safety net programs to balance the budget and pay for his tax cuts to the wealthy.

Axios reported, ?Where the entitlement cuts are made: From programs including SNAP (food stamps), CHIP (Children?s Health Insurance Program), and SSDI (Disability Insurance). The budget proposal will also assume that Trump can sign into law the American Health Care Act ? the Obamacare repeal and replace bill that passed the House and is now being considered by the Senate. That bill makes substantial cuts to Medicaid.?

It is important to note that there are different Social Security programs. There is Social Security, Supplemental Social Security (SSI), and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSD or SSDI).

Donald Trump is literally paying for his tax cut plan where most of the benefits go to the very wealthy by taking food, health care, and income away from people with disabilities. However, slashing assistance to the disabled wasn?t enough, so his administration is also cutting Medicaid, and the Children?s Health Insurance Program.
Nearly 20% of Americans have a disability, and those people are going to see some cut in assistance under the Trump budget.

Someone has to pay for it and you know it won't be the wealthy. And his core voters will still stick with him like lemmings

Muslim women are uppity, brazen and often hate America. You've got to wonder if they are raising homegrown terrorists.

Also pay for tax cuts for all of us who actually work and pay taxes.
I own my own business so I have to write quarterly checks to the govt...unlike many of you who are employees and have your taxes taken out and then get nice refund checks.
I never get a refund check.

So the good news for me is, I'll be able to keep more of the money I earned and spend it on my family and our future.
Good news for those of you who are employees...your refund check will be bigger and you will be able to take better care of your family and future as well.

Tax cuts are for EVERYBODY including the rich. They should get to keep the money they earn as well. Better than giving it to the corrupt govt.

Fuck Robbie, don't you understand, people only get wealthy by stealing from the poor oppressed people. it is only fair that the more you make the higher the % of your dollars the government should confiscate. I mean....Income inequality, no reason a guy working 70 hours a week should live any better than a guy lying on a park bench drinking a 40.

EAT THE RICH

100%. And not like there is rampant abuse and fraud in these programs. They could use a hard cut and more requirements to quality for assistance. Reform and streamlining.

^^"I own my own business so I have to write quarterly checks to the govt...unlike many of you who are employees and have your taxes taken out and then get nice refund checks.

FICA weekly withholding is what keeps the US Government greased. FICA weekly withholding tables (rates) are padded. Excess taxes paid by employees and withheld by their employers, then remitted to the IRS, by law are refunded to the taxpayer. Sounds like you have never employed someone on a payroll basis -- otherwise you would know this Robbie.

First of all this is Trump's wish budget -- a lot of this will get cut.
A substantial part of any benefits savings by any cuts should be reinvested in the infrastructure of this country and in subsidizing education costs for those that are either talented younger people in school now or adults seeking retraining in vocational pursuits in the new post industrial economy.

People kicked to the curb in SSI Disability and SNAP food stamp cuts will no longer have the means to participate in the economy. I am assuming that the government will not let them live in tent cities, eating earthworms and what they can find in dumpsters. By cutting Medicaid there will be more unpaid care at public hospitals and the hospitals will raise their rates and you will pay more in private insurance premiums -- the government may offer you a stipend to support this cost. So who is the new welfare client?

There is abuse is SSI Disability. If you can prove you are wacko you get SSI and Medicare. So kick all the wackos to the curb and life will be perfect?

TheDynasty 05-22-2017 03:54 PM

it will never pass

What will you do when the poor vote for a left wing government?

Paul Markham 05-23-2017 02:17 AM

Western governments are on course to make 50% or more of the population poor or close to it. The next 30% will be treading water and the top 20$ will see income increases. The top 1% will become wealthier beyond their dreams.

Forget about how it is today unless you only use it to compare to 50, 40, 30, 20, 10 years ago.

Jobs are being cut by the day, despite claims they're not. The replacement jobs are more than likely to be at a far lower wage. Companies are exporting manufacturing and support to countries where people work for 20% or less of a Western Wage. Migrants are flowing in from Third World countries and will work for less. The biggest crunch, which has only just started, is automation. This will even replace the lowest tier of jobs.

All this has a huge trickle up effect. A manager who was once buying porn, webcam, dating. Is now unable to afford it. Some unemployed will be looking at being webmasters. Some companies will outsource traffic generation t the Third World and as we know a lot of webmasters are already in the Third World or somewhere where they can live for less than a Westerner. This goes across all industries.

Some think by paying less in taxes and being able to update their iPhone every year they win. That is until their job disappears or their customers disappear.

Trump offered to cut back on migration and to stop jobs disappearing and even bring some back. He seems to have lied. Hillary offered to bring more migrants and to expand free trade, she wasn't lying. Just 2 people out of 535 politicians who have made sure this is the way they can reward their paymasters. The EU is no different it has made sure cheaper workers are replacing better paid, made sure goods flood in from the East and made sure the flow remains one way.

And if you think they want to spread the wealth more evenly. You're blind.

Fortunately, we live in democracies and we can hope voters will wake up and stop voting for people who are determined to make the majority poorer.

They already do. That is the bread and butter of the Democratic base. Give them free things and no accountability in exchange for their unwavering vote.

This is true but government policy cannot do much if it attempts protectionism.

If two people have the same abilities and talents in two different countries why is one better than another? Because he looks like you or me (of the Western World)? Because he speaks the same language?

There are two kinds of people in this world Obsolete and those who are Contemporary -- the world has always been that way. Today we are globalized and have instant communication -- that is the only difference really. Accelerated Reality :2 cents:

Hindsight is always perfect -- foresight and having visionary ability is rare ... The past is not always indicative of the future.
  1. The Obsoleted workers will form an informal economy -- below the radar and untaxed.
  2. The top 20% will bear the tax burden but will no longer be forced to pay for the Obsoleted.
  3. The top 1% will pay the least -- on a percentage basis anyway.
At least, that is what is being proposed here -- *there's some foresight to consider*

The Trumpian world vision is not for the masses and it never was.

Import tariffs are the way to protect internal markets and jobs.

As for obsolete workers forming an informal economy. :1orglaugh

Stop blaming Trump, this has been happening for the last 50 years.

LOL. There are very few moderates left in the Democratic party. They are trying hard to pull and tug their way to the European left wing way. Luckily the US has two groups with very different views of things. Not like Canada or Europe, where Conservatives would still be very left wing in the US.

Paul Markham 05-24-2017 12:07 AM

While the brainwashed argue that everything is OK. Statistics prove them wrong.

Quote:

For much of the past 70 years, nearly all households in advanced economies have seen their incomes increase, thanks to mostly steady economic and employment growth. Between 1993 and 2005, 98% of households in 25 advanced economies experienced rising real incomes.

But in recent years this trend has ground to a halt, and even gone into reverse. A report by the McKinsey Global Institute, Poorer than their parents? Flat or falling incomes in advanced economies, found that between 2005 and 2014, the real income of up to 70% of households in advanced economies flattened or fell.

Britain?s current young generation earned £8,000 less during their 20s than their predecessors and are at risk of being the first cadre of workers in modern times to see their lifetime earnings fall, according to new research.

A report by the Resolution Foundation highlighting the UK?s growing intergenerational divide showed that millennials, who are aged between 15 and 35, fared significantly worse than their parents in Generation X during their first years of employment.
Quote:

The full scale of the financial rout facing millennials is revealed today in exclusive new data that points to a perfect storm of factors besetting an entire generation of young adults around the world.

A combination of debt, joblessness, globalisation, demographics and rising house prices is depressing the incomes and prospects of millions of young people across the developed world, resulting in unprecedented inequality between generations.
Forbes falls back on it's all down to the recession in 2008. As id the bankers are still worse off than they were in 2008. https://www.forbes.com/sites/timwors.../#2c735e434d50

This trend started before 2008 and that crash only exposed the West's reliance on a banking industry that rewards the rich. And the decline of jobs/wages outside the financial institutions.
