Is There A Way To Turn Flash Off?

I have a high speed connection but my computer is shit and the flash banners make the board load slow so my questions is: Is there a way to turn flash off? I'm using WinMe/IE.

I have a 128kbps connection (slow isn't it? ) and I don't have problems at all.. usually flash banners are smaller than regular ones....

maybe your computer is too slow....

It pisses me off when I hit a site, and it has a stupid 40 second animated animation with hardcore fucking techno music in the background... and no way to turn it off.

Given a choice between a html and "enhanced" site, I choose html every time. Fuck swf. If I want swf, I'll go to Joe Cartoon. Put your IE security settings on high. It will take out java<b></b>script (no popups), stupid background sounds and flash.
