Trump fired Comey the day after Yates & Clapper testified that the Trump investigation is still open and there's evidence of collusion. Think about that.

In Trumps letter about firing Comey he states that he was told by Comey 3 times that he's no longer under investigation. Do you think Trump is going to hire a new director that contradicts Trumps statement of being cleared? Think about that.

Obama couldn't fire Comey after the Clinton fiasco because he knew the depths of the Trump / Russia FBI investigation, that we've only recently found out about, and changing horses at that point could hinder the investigation.

Trump would have ridden out the investigation if he was innocent, then Comey after being cleared. Trump fired the FBI director the day after the incriminating Yates / Clapper testimony. Think about that.

It was the Yates & Clapper testimony yesterday that caused Trump to fire Comey today.

The implication from both officials' testimonies was that there may, indeed, be evidence of collusion -- this after months of the White House arguing that Clapper was clear there is no evidence.

Nixon is the only president to fire the FBI director while being investigated , and he did it right before he was charged.

First off Obama should of fired Comey with what he did in making a announcement about the Hillary email servers. Obama should of also fired Comey when he came out on tv and publicly stated Hillary broke the law but he made the decision no reasonable prosecutor would file charges. That is not his job. This is what we know for a fact.

Dude Comey has no one to blame but himself. You trying to tell me Obama should of not fired Comey for what he did in outing the Hillary investigation right before the election but failed to mention the Trump investigation? He pissed off both side and now he payed the price.

Trump fired Comey the day after Yates & Clappers televised testimony under oath indicating collusion has been found & Trump is still under investigation. Today Trump fires Comey, and in his announcement states he was told 3 times by Comey that he's cleared and not under investigation.

Lets say you are 100% correct why Trump let him go i will give you that. We really do not honestly know why Trump fired him but i will play along and say its for all the reasons you posted above. Still does not change the fact what Comey did to Hillary was wrong and he deciding to not recommend charges which was not his job. Not to mention he said there will be no investigation on the classified leaks. I am really surprised the left is pissed at his firing since this is the man that put Trump in the white house. So now the FBI just closes shop and cancels all the grand jury subpoenas sent out? Of course not. Investigation continues first thing tomorrow morning.

And put Hillary Clinton in Trumps place today firing the FBI director while being under investigation, after firing staff who lied about their ties to Russia and the attorney general recusing himself for doing the same.

Yep, that's why Dems lose touch with the masses. They take a gift, then way over blow it with hyperbole and make themselves seem unhinged. Lots of issues with the way the firing was done today. The letter to the office, but not bringing him in for a meeting or even a phone call to let him know beforehand. Take him to task for firing someone like that. Mention that the perception looks bad because of the ongoing investigations, and leave it at that. Let people take that and soak it in themselves. But they just can't help themselves.

As for Clinton firing him when she got into office, I'd have no issue with that at all. He bungled the past year up many times and was not fit for the job. I'd hope she'd fire him in person or at least on the phone.

Now if either of them started firing anyone that even remotely worked on the investigations and made it known if you do one iota of work to look into the emails or Russia that they would be fired immediately, then I would have a massive problem with either. And so would the law I'd imagine.

There is nothing to investigate. The Democrats merely need open investigations to help shift the blame for their defeat in November.

McConnel is an old school Republican and not a big fan of Trump.

Paul Ryan is trying to stay close to the political center so that more people like him when he runs for president. He also has a lot of Democrat tendencies.

BTW, there was only 1 other FBI directer who has ever been fired our history. That firing resulted in a 6 month investigation as to why he was fired, concluding with a 161 page report.. Not even Nixon was dumb enough to fire the FBI director.. Not to mention a director who was in the middle of an investigation that has serious implications about our country's security..
