Paypal on CCbill join pages
 

I've noticed increased number of sites putting a paypal option on CCBill join pages.

As far as I see, this is going to ruin business for affiliates since it is one more traffic leak. Personally, I will remove every site doing this in the incoming period. Once again, greed will ruin the business. Your thoughts about this?

Yes this is a big issue.

I'm mainly seeing CCBILL sponsors adding EPOCH/PAYPAL on the join page ALONGSIDE CCBILL. So it's not a secondary biller in the cascade, thus affiliates won't get paid on EPOCH/PAYPAL joins.

Some sponsors that come to mind right away: Wank It Now (JerkRev), FrolicMe. But there are a lot more.

The fix would be easy: hide the Epoch option for affiliate traffic.

(PS. Before anyone gets confused. This is not an issue for NATS or Sliiing sponsors. Only for plain CCBILL paid, Verotel paid, etc ones, that add a secondary biller option on the join page.)

I'm asking myself how this would work anyways... because Epoch's rules are very clear about it:

"At least 60% of your transactions with Epoch must be derived from credit and debit cards. Your ability to accept PayPal may be interrupted or limited if you do not maintain the required ratios."

Maybe they have some other stuff entirely on Epoch to help with the ratios. Upsales, other sites, etc.

Or they just haven't been caught by Epoch yet? :)

From some reason, I didn't get a notification about answers. Anyway, epoch and paypal alongside ccbill are the reason to pull out links. But I am talking about placing a paypal info (address) so visitors can send money to owner, skipping affiliate and CCbill.

This is exactly why I make no note on our join page that Paypal can be used with Epoch. Rather, it's just a pleasant surprise if surfer's see it when clicking on the Epoch link (because frankly, if they clicked that far, there's a good chance they'll be joining either way).

Paypal's *too* popular and you'd probably see surfers swarm to that option significantly lowering your non-Paypal sales.

I've spotted quite a few too, I believe Epoch are approaching sponsors and asking them to do this, it robs from the affiliate and robs from CCBill, perhaps this was the reason they shut down their affiliate stuff.

Paypal should only be appearing on non-affiliate landing pages, maybe CCBill will bring in a policy against this.

Some affiliate programs make the effort to create a special ccbill-linked tour specifically for their ccbill partners which differentiates from the regular visitor/tour sign-up navigation which would include multiple payment options they offer. I'm inclined to drop out of former ccbill programs where they have multiple payment options that don't seem to include the cascade system for new sign-ups, and don't bother to make a separate ccbill-pay link for partners.

I see a more adult sites doing that too, but it seems to be risky gambling that.

A few years ago Epoch and PayPal reached some sort of deal regarding digital adult transactions: https://epoch.com/paypal/

Got e-mail from CCbill today and they told that is not against their rules. What about affilliates? Clips 4 sale model already made a huge traffic leak for affiliates. At some point, they will stop promoting these sites. I am the first one to do it.

I'm pretty sure they are testing this only Europe for now, your bank has to be Euro based with Epoch and you can add Pay Pal to your line up. I think they are in a Beta phase, analyzing risk, charge backs, etc... then.... Pay Pal will roll out the goods here in the States and finally wipe out all those mother fucking cock sucking 3rd party billers that have been shoving it in our asses for all those years!!!!!

I'm dropping programs that don't have their sites set-up with a unique separate ccbill-only tour link for its partners. Another good idea is to contact those program owners too and let them know your intentions if they don't follow the method used by other professional programs who do have unique ccbill-path tours that don't involve other pay methods.
I agree, ccbill acts lax/ non-proactively imo on 'guiding' program owners in giving optimum service to partners. I also wonder why they don't apparently have any policy in going after piracy sites that are stealing away paying customers from ccbill program sites since not only site owners and affiliate promoters are losing potential income, but also ccbill too.

From what you know so far, would paypal add adult merchant 'risk fees'?
What makes me iffy about using paypal is if site owners would face legal issues if people under 18 are signing up using it; the traditional payment processors seem to near eliminate that possibility.

sadly you´re right, probably originally over the past few years through the epoch configuration giving ability of paypal payment.

it´s not safe to know the age of the payee & it´s breaking an affiliate bond.

after they see enough money on the account they can freeze they do it RIGHT AWAY !!

you don´t have to eat your boots - paypal will not allow adult and even in B2B as we do it is one of the most expensive and unreliable payment methods.
i would love to get rid of it but unfortunately too many people using it.

but they will get more and more competition in the future - it is just a question of time - there are already some nice options existing - unfortunately not that famous yet.

Unfortunately, we are not able to influence the way our clients handle their business nor restrict it in any way.
As my colleague previously explained in this particular case client receive payments on his personal PayPal account, and will PayPal accept the transaction in the adult industry or not is beyond our scope of business.
Again if one of our clients desired to process PayPal or any other payment options we are not able to sanction or restrict that in any way since website belongs to them and they are the ones that will decide how will they handle their business.

Paypal have added Venmo mobile payment services to their system. They will be rolling it out over the next few weeks. What impact will this have on affiliates?

I think it's just a matter of time. If Pay Pal didn't have a little hard-on for adult dollars, then why roll out this option in the Euro market with Epoch? Seems to me that they are sniffing it out and setting up the format and fees. Once they get it down tight, they will roll it out here in the States and clean up.

I bet they give it a separate name like "Pay Pal Adult."

Greed and growth can never be stopped with these billing companies. They've been watching CCBill and others rape webmasters for years with their 14.5% fees, an easy market for Pay Pal to sweep in and conquer.

When that happens you'll see CCBill and others drop their rates to compete, but it will be too late.

I think it's happening right now and within a year or 2, we will see it here in the States.

and again the affiliate gets a boot in their ass. A ongoing trend that seems to never stop.
