Mexico slaps trade sanctions on U.S. (no joke)

Mexico, via the WTO, just slapped the US with trade sanctions to the tune of $163 million.

Thanks Trump.

Trump just keeps losing WTF the pig is cursed

MrMaxwell 04-25-2017 09:15 PM

Oh boy. I saw a chiuaua bite a great Dane before once, too.
EVERYONE is tired of Mexico's shit including most Mexicans

JuicyBunny 04-25-2017 09:59 PM

Just posturing and bickering about tuna these days.
Pacific tuna is down to 2.6% of its population at its peak.

There will be a lot of this shit until no more tuna.

Keep in mind the Mexicans are bitching about being told they cannot catch and kill dolphins which is the core of this particular dispute. They dont target dolphins but apparently they are lazy about not catching them.

So uninformed

This is something that was started in 2008 and just finished litigating.

But of course you don't know that.
"Thanks Trump".
So ignorant of the news

MrMaxwell 04-26-2017 12:38 AM

No one knows anything these days that's for sure
Most people should be put down at the rate we're going all of us may as well jump into the ocean, I think

I'm sure you were Soo informed on the subject before you went searching all over the Internet trying to find a way to prove him wrong..

I bet you knew all about this before he posted the topic... Robbie the Mexican fishermen expert.. :1orglaugh

Now the real issue here, is if this had happened under any other potus, Mexico would have privately worked a deal out with us. They would of used the win in court as a bargaining chip with some negotiations.

However with Trump's threats aginst Mexico, they just stright up slapped a sanction, because they could.. This sanction was stright up caused by Trump's BS you can bet your ass on it..

This is an example of Trump's failure to be a leader and now he starts to harm the US economy even further.. He's already harmed the travel, tourism and even higher education industries because less people are coming to the US to spend their money and go to school..

Much leadership...Many, Many red hat excuses..

No, I saw it on the news the day before. It was all over CNN, Fox, and MSNBC.
But like Rochard...you wouldn't know that.

As for "any other POTUS". Again...you are ignorant of the FACTS.
This was put in action in 2008 when Bush was President. They have been actively litigating it the ENTIRE time of Pres. Obama's administration. And the WTO finally released their decision this past week.

Had zero to do with Trump or any other President.

And if you had a brain cell left in your empty head...you wouldn't be cheering for Mexico. This whole legality was brought to the WTO because U.S. regulatory agencys were penalizing their imported tuna because they say that Mexican fisherman are catching and killing Dolphins when catching tuna.

Of course you don't know that. Because you don't watch the news or keep up with anything except whatever radical socialist blogger you happen to be following this week.

Trust me snowflake...this is something that you SHOULD be concerned about if you really care about the Earth and animals like dolphins.

So ignorant of the news

I knew someone would say this. "The never stops here".

Bullshit. The unemployment rate has been dropping for years under Obama while the Republicans screamed how horrible it was and now suddenly it dropped another point a month after Trump took off and it's "Problem solved".

Why didn't the Trump administration take notice of this court case and do something about it?

It's not a "court case". It's the World Trade Organization. And Trump didn't "do anything about it" for the same reason that Pres. Obama didn't: No civilized person wants to allow Mexico to kill dolphins.

Wow. Please educate yourself.

Robbie you must spend every waking hour watching 24/7 news networks. You always "just happen" to be watching CNN/MSNBC/Fox ect..ect.. you've used that exact same line at least a half dozen times here on GFY..

No wonder your brain is scrambled.. Also I didn't praise Mexico about this, I said they gained an upper hand that would of been used as a bargaining chip with any other president..except Trump because he's not a leader he's just a loud mouth whos threatened Mexico since his campaign.. Mexico just struck back..

Also, yes I did know about the reason we were banning it, it was in the fucking link Rockhard posted, but guess you didn't read it did you?

Don't be such a dumb dumb, cupcake..

If it started in 2008 it did happen under another President who didn't make it go away. Who was President in 2008.

You really need to think before you post. Of course, that will mean you post less nonsense.

Do you have official figures on the number of tourists and their spending since Trump was elected?

Obama dropped the unemployment rate by getting people into low paid jobs and borrowing a lot of money. The problem is the jobs he created were so bad people voted for Trump.

Wow. Please educate yourself.

It was more or less a court case. It was aruged, arbitrators were involved, and then there was a ruling.

It seems Mexico has the same policies the US has, as do other countries, but instead that Mexico wasn't willing to put up with US demands, which only seemed to apply to Mexico.

Mexico said it had cut dolphin deaths to minimal levels but that it was being discriminated against by U.S. demands for paperwork and sometimes government observers. Tuna catches from other regions did not face the same stringent tests, it said.

(source)

It's not about the evils of killing dolphins. It's about the United States demanding paperwork and a level of supervision that ONLY Mexico has to deal with.

You would think the Trump administration would have sat up and took notice of this legal issue. This is more important now than it was four years ago because our relationship with Mexico has changed drastically. I know, the Trump administration is super busy with fighting executive orders about protecting us from non existent terrorist attacks from terrorists in other countries.

You continue to say "educate yourself" but the reality of this is you are the one who fails to do any research on these issues. It's not about "No civilized person wants to allow Mexico to kill dolphins" as you claimed, but instead that the United States is forcing Mexico to comply with rules and regulations that only apply to Mexico and not any other country.

How exactly does a potus make a court case go away.. You really need to think before you post. Of course, that will mean you post less nonsense.

Mexico's complaint, which dates back to 2008, focused on U.S. rules on "dolphin friendly" labeling, which Mexico said unfairly penalized its fishing industry

Robbie, as with many of us is probably anti Trump, but that doesnīt mean you should put the blame on him just because you donīt like him.

As Robbie has said, this has been going on for years & finally the WTO give the win to Mexico...

no need for everyone to bitch at each other! Rochard obviously just read the story & didnīt read all the facts... no big deal. The news has still happened, itīs just not Trumps fault for once :1orglaugh

Pointing out that Crockett tried to insult Robbie and honestly I feel like Robbie usually knows far more or articulates far better.

If anyone contributes nothing these days it's really you. Honestly I think you need to lose your GFY password for a week or so and take a break you are melting down in a big way.
