Way to go ARS
ARS is the first per sign up company to lower payouts.
The new pay scale looks like this Free trial - $28 2.99 3 day trial - $32 $4.99 5 day trial - $35 Monthly join - $50 Its about time someone admits that members aren't worth nearly as much as they used to be, and there's no way a company will continue to be able to pay $35 and credit you with all signups honestly. At least not without ass fucking the surfer with a dick big enough to kill an elephant. (Remember, ARS pays on everything, all processors, checks, 1 900 joins, everything) I predict its just a matter of time before other per sign up companies follow their lead :thumbsup :thumbsup |
haha very true, i can see them all dropping to 25/
|
Yes, I think it will be impossible for most places to just raise the shave ratio, webmasters would owe them money then :1orglaugh

Hopefully this is not a sign of what we can expect from other companies... although ARS has been a leader on these things which does worry me.

give credit where credit is due - ars isn't the first - silvercash lowered payouts $5 last year!
|
Hopefully with them lowering the payouts.....then my ratio might get better?
|
Yea, you can only shave so much till you are at 80% shave :)
I think we should all get together and lower payouts. Oh wait. Better yet. Stop shaving and go to an all REV SHARE industry. Pay people on their worth and fuck everyone else. :) I am waiting for a nice admin where I can select how much I wish to be shaved then it tells me my new payout :) Mogul Mogul Networks Inc. |
Yes we will get paid less for a $2.99 trial, but the default now has basically just moved from $2.99 for 3 days to $4.99 for 5 days. If you don't change anything, your join pages will just be for that time period and price, and you still get paid the same amount as before. So really I look at it as more of changing the price and length of the trial...I would think of it as lowering payout if the default was now set to $2.99 and $32 payout
|
I believe CE did it first, but too early.
They changed their mind and upped the payouts again shortly after. |

This is different for a few reasons IMO.
Silvercash lowered payouts to $35, not from $35. They were trying to pay more than everyone else to get more volume, but apparently it wasn't profitable for them. CE lowered payouts, but they were paying on active members, so that's more of a pseudo revshare program anyways. The default 499 for 5 days instead of 299 for 3 days will do 2 things, it will increase ARS's conversions from trial membership to monthly membership, and it will make your signup ratios worse. Remember when maxcash changed from 295 to 495 on their trials? They changed it back in a month because soooooo many of their webmasters were complaining about what it did to ratios and some of them started sending their traffic elsewhere. |
Lenny you think a guy paying $2.99 will not go the $4.99? Its not that big a leap.

why fuck with a 3 day trial or 5 day trial for whatever amount when you can get a site for
a $1 for a full month trial :winkwink: |

Cheaper trial=more signups, less conversions to monthly. More expensive trial=less signups, better retention No trial=alot less signups, great retention That's why free trials convert the best, but the payouts are way less than a 495 trial, because the retention on them isn't as good. Its also one of the big reasons sites that don't offer trials (blacks on blondes, ATK etc) have such awesome retention. |

They have an option to switch all your links to whatever payout option you want.
I switched to the free. My conversions are fricking amazing now!! 10 signups in the last 2 hours!! You have to give ARS a hand :) It's all about the size of the check < |
I think $28 per free trial (although a CC / check is still necessary) is a good idea.... I'll send them some traffic and see how it goes.

I do double digits everyday with ARS :)
They are my main sponsor for per signup. Then I use nichewealth.com for recurring. |

i'd rather have a structure like that then pie in the sky rates with other companies. I like the trend towards giving webmasters more control over how they promote. For example, console free tours, etc.
|
I've been testing all 3 settings overnight and so far the 3 day @ $2.99 is performing best.

> ARS is the first per sign up company to lower payouts.
> The new pay scale looks like this I applaud ARS for being upfront about it. Any case theyve just tied payments to the kind of sign-up rather than issuing set fee for any kind of sign up. Still, it was immensely predictable that something like this was about to happen. Free porn is killing this industry and unless people like "The Hun" start cutting down what they give away things can only get worse. I mean like a whole page of free links wasnt enough? He had to also introduct the "Overflow" Hun just to feed the cocks of those who were just about ready to pull their CC out. Sad state of affairs. I can imagine a number of them wont be reduce their sign up fees but instead pull da razors out and start shaving more. |

I don't use the term lowering payouts, rather, increasing the money earned per dollar of payout spent. Everyone has been talking about decreasing member values and how its harder and harder to obtain profitability in the current $35-40 model that SOOO many sponsors use. We took the initiative to give our webmasters the ability to make a decision on how we should deal with this lower member value.
Rather than a straight cut of payout, manditory increase in trial price, or stop crediting certain sign ups (or worse shaving) we decided to put as many of those options in our webmasters hands. Now they have the control! We now offer FREE trials (new tours for the free trials for all 240+ tours in the ARS portfolio) as well which at a lower rate but better conversion could make everyone a lot more money. I'm very interested to see who else will 'take the pludge' that every major sponsor I've talked to wanted to do, or who sits idly finding 'other' ways to profit :) |
> I'm very interested to see who else will 'take the pludge'
> that every major sponsor I've talked to wanted to do, or > who sits idly finding 'other' ways to profit My guess is that theyll all follow ARS' lead. They do for everything else so why not this...... Overall though, im far more interested in hearing about some kind of initiatives to reduce the amount of free porn in circulation. |
There should actually be a payout scale, paying webmasters out on how the sale was generated, if theres a way to track it..
Gallries - $25/signup Newsletters/Spam - $30/signup Search Engines - $100/signup ;] Yeah! |

I just grabbed a bunch of link codes from them, and I must say ARS's new link code stuff is SWEET.
Good programming/interface job there guys. Some hints for your programmers though Marc: Alphabetize your categories - always. Add more categories - a site shouldn't have to be in just one category - will make it easier to find. Some of your sites are missing - ie, bikini category has no sites listed under it. Cheers, Backov |
On behalf of WEGCash, I would like to say congratulations to Marc De and staff on the new features available with ARS. The new additions to your program look great and we wish you much success.
:thumbsup |
I like ARS and it's not a joke :)
|
now that is has been a week are we all still happy? I got 3 sign ups yesterday and it would have been 105 and with all the options I got 78 instead. Woohoo!

free trials $28 x 3=$84 the only way you could get $75 on 3 signups is 1 free trial at 28 1 4:99 trial at 35 1 web900 at $15 or 2 4:99 trial $70 1 byot sign $5 in either case you would never have been getting $105 for those before |
And now we're gonna add 15 Brand New Site, 30 Brand New Tours (10 of which are video / reality tours)
Also we'll be adding some awesome new 'Flash Overlay' ads for every niche. This is good stuff... |
