best way to enable multiple computers to edit the same file
 

basically i want the same file open on 2 or more computers and be able to edit and the changes reflect on all computers while the file is open. what is the best way to do this? is it possible?

What kind of file? Video editing has Adobe bridge, etc.

nothing video. mostly just notepad, word or excel files.

not the best solution but it would work. the only thing i don't like about it (aside from having to give the files to google) is that i have to access it via browser.
