3 new Tesla models in the next 2 years

In Sept Tesla will be showing off their electric semi truck. In the next 12-24 months they will be showing off their first electric pickup truck and sometime in between they will be releasing a microbus.

Pretty ambitious guy..

Maybe he should run for potus to show us what a "real" businessman could do...

What will be most interesting is the Tesla Semi-Truck. If this proposed truck can carry battery power for a 800-1,200 mile range this could be a major development. Diesel exhaust is a major pollution source.

I'd be amazed if they could manage that. My guess is it will be a smaller truck for local use and not a big over the road rig. Like a single axle cab/chassis truck for local delivery.

The problem is those rigs need to carry big loads and big battery packs will take up a lot of its capacity to carry a load.

I'd suspect we'll see lighter trucks like those used by ups ground or FedEx freight or the other common carriers. That alone is thousands and thousands of trucks on the road everyday.

An all electric pickup truck sounds interesting to me. Maybe ill hold off getting a new Dodge Ram until i see what this electric vehicle can do.

Its not going to be in production in 2 years, just the show model/concept will be shown in the next 12-24 months according to the article.

The big rig will be publicly shown this Sept.

That will give me enough time to set up a 20KW Tesla solar roof system on a new workshop I'm building.

Congrats to Tesla. They rock.

aaIf you are familiar with battery tech theres a new polymer for lithium ion batteries that makes them WAY more stable and allows 3x the energy output of batteries the same size...this would push the range of current Tesla models well into the 1000 mile area, it will also create the feasibility for manned drones and transport vehicles. Its all about keeping the lithium stable at high output....

That would be awesome. I've heard about the EV pickups and other rids and thought Tesla would roll out Electric busses by now - surprised they haven't done that yet.

Oh well. Electric cars are finally here to stay. I see about 3-4 electric cars every time I head out. It will be nice to see 20 or 30 on every trip and eventually, see only 2 or 3 O L D gas cars...
