All I can say is I wish it wasn't dead. I wish it got off the ground and more tgp webmasters learned that tgp2 is better. Well in some ways it's better. In other ways the surfer might just go to kazaa and say fuck website porn alltogether.

Tgp2 is far from dead my friend. Yeah a lot of people seem to think it is. But it's just not true, it's doing good and growing day by day. There are even many of the regular tgp's that will list tgp2 galleries. Ha, no one thought that would ever happen.

The things that screw tgp2 up in the first place are no more.

well - GallerySpots has kind of proved big pics really do work on HTML pages ( linked or un-linked IMO ). everybody says there's too much free porn. sounds like what we've been doing all along in TGP2 ...

TGP2 (or retro tgp) never amounted to more than a group of people linking up together in the general scope of the industry. Of course, it is only dead if the group utilizing it stops.

If you get a decent group of people, you can make anything work really. TGP 3, 4,5 ,6, MX, etc..

TGP2 is certainly alive and growing. Check out the other active TGP2 thread for more discussion.

It's on a solid foundation now. The only place we can go is up, and we _are_ going up. :)

All that is required is a reasonable committment of your time. TGP2 won't bring riches overnight, but it sure as hell won't bring the nightmare that so many TGP'ers have complained about.

TGP2 may not get the ton of traffic TGP does, but the surfers are a lot more productive. on most of my TGP2 galleries i average about 1 in 4 click thru's for the ads or links. show me any TGP that i can put 8 ( or more ) ads, text links or what ever on. full size pics ( linked pics allowed BTW ... ) on HTML with another one or two ads. it takes me more time to pick out the ads or do up the text links, than it does to do up the actual gallery. now - what regular TGP do you have that much "webmaster friendly" latitude with ? everybody bitches about advertising restrictions with regular TGP - here's an alternative. your choice ...

I still don't understand the "Everyone needs to do TGP2 because we say so" mentality.

If it makes a lot of money, then go ahead and make a ton of money on your TGP2's and be happy.

Let's see it's been 'growing' for about 2 years and now has less traffic than when it started. Very strange kind of growth you got happening there.

I really don't see anyone with this mentality. ?? What I do see is a group of people actively promoting a proven system that addresses many of the daily gripes that TGP'ers have.

We're high energy, excited and trying to promote something that can make a lot of cash and that ultimately will benefit the whole industry.

If we had 50K traffic a day, that would be the equivelant of 150K to 500K of TGP traffic. No one would have a problem jumping on then.

If everyone who is 'waiting for traffic to increase' will put in a little time, we'll get there a hell of lot faster.
