Yes it's pretty sweet. I get Telus 2.5Mbs ADSL for 50 Canadian a month. Self installation - you can be up and running with 15 minutes. At the moment they have soft caps as well which is cool.

When I was in Canada, I was getting high-speed cable net access for $30 USD a month. It was fast as fuck + unlimited downloads. :thumbsup

FlyingIguana 04-16-2003 05:43 AM

ya a bargain. but quality wise its not that great.

I had both DSL and Cable net access in Canada for 4 years, and it rocked, why don't you think it's very good?

Where are you from? I am paying $35/month for Telus and haven't lost connection once in the 6 months I have had it, no noticable slowdowns, and no bandwidth cap.

lol...what are you talking about?

Vegas cox cable is $59.95/mo

I do get 3Mbits down (realistically 2Mbits) and about 128kB up

And I had to buy my own modem.

This is off the topic...but as far as your signature goes, it doesn't really make sense.

If you were saying Buy-Bull the correct pronounciation would be

bi-bul...with a line over the "i" ....maybe you should get rid of the would "pronounciation".

We are on Sympatico "Ultra" high-speed.
3Mb down and 640k up for $69.95 per month (that's about $45US for you Yanks)

You must be on Rogers. They suck. I recently switched to Sympatico and I love it.

dsl just came to my area finally last week, im getting it for 40 bucks a month canadian (including modem rental) for a 1mbit connection. speeds better be good, but no cap and its a local company, so things should be cool.

Never knew Sympatico had cable service....

I'm actually thinking of switching off of Rogers. The speed is good, when it doesn't suck. I'd prefer constant speed over off and on shit.

Cheers,
Matt

They don't.

I have Videotron cable internet, and I pay $34.95 CDN a month.

I get 3.1 Mbps down and 180 Kbps up. 10 gb/m down and 5 gb/m up. Good enough for me.

Hmm... If you're a student at a university in Sweden you can get access to the Swedis University NeTwork (SUNET) for about $30 usd per month... SUNET is a 10 gigabit national network so it's fast as fuck! SUNET info brochure

Otherwise you can get a 2.5mbit connection for about $55 usd

And if you live in Stockholm you can get a 10mbit "both directions" connection for $40 usd

I knew they didn't.... I just was .. yeah, anyways.. :)

Sadly there's a monopoly on cable internet for each area, and I'm in Toronto.

Cheers,
Matt
