What VOLUNTEER/CHARITY work do you do?
Okay this one may be for publication so think about your answer a bit....
********************************************* Question Are you involved with charity and/or volunteer work, and if so, what is the nature of your contribution to these organizations? |

we got a lot of homeless cats on the streets and they are always very hugry. and i feel sorry for them because they often get attacked by dogs (some stupid fucktards with pitbulls and rotweilers make their dogs attack homeless cats) |
i would work with homeless children.
|
Work with old folks that have no family. (i.e. visiting nursing homes, etc.) It's called Adopt-a-Grandparent.:thumbsup

from when i was 16 - 20 i assisted in an annual Haunted House for Halloween, the funds raised went to a local institute.
'Chinchuba Institute is a private auditory-oral school for children with hearing loss serving the greater New Orleans area. Hearing impaired children from birth are served in the variety of programs offered; parent-infant training, preschool for the hearing impaired, elementary school for the hearing impaired, mainstream services, audiologic and speech services. Financial assistance is available to eligible families to assist with the cost of tuition.' some of the greatest times i ever had was designed Haunted houses, special effecs, and make up. It was about 4 months of work every year, i ws never paid. And it helped deaf kids. and i got to scare chicks. havent done much direct, hands on volunteer work since I moved to California. |
I posted this earlier in a different thread but every year my wife and I buy a goat from
Heifer International for a poor family. They use it as a source of food (cheese not slaughter) and milk. Since the goat produces way more milk than they can drink they can sell the excess for money. It really is a pretty good thing to do. They are only $120, that is $10/month. I bet most people in here spend more at McD's in a week than that. Anyway that is my charity rant.:2 cents: |
Let's just say I help some people out who, like me, used to drink a llittle and don't any more.
Well, I try. A whole lot of the time it's like pissing into the wind. |

i assist in financial and moral and sexual contributions to wayward girls in a third world country....
|
I did a great deal of work with AIDS/HIV and safe sex education before I moved to the UK. I would greatly love to get back into it but as my husband is disabled and I spend the majority of my time acting as his carer. So, I don't have much time to anything else.
|

plenty of volunteer and charity work over the years
- environment - AID's hospice/children with AID's - homeless - teaching - arts/culture won't get into any details, wouldn't want to be accused of flashing the "good guy badge" again |
In the past I've;
Volunteered weekly at a Senior Center Served Thanksgiving dinner at Homeless Shelters Donated food, clothing and blankets. Taken part in several fundraisers. And I always try to share whatever I can spare. |
Once a bird got hit by a hit by a kid on a bike -- it crash landed after trying to get away from the tourists on the beach... everyone was freakin out cause the bird looked so pathetic... I picked it up in my jacket -- it calmed down and was going to bring it to my friend who may know what to do with it... but by the time I got half way down the street it was stone cold... I dug a hole at the beach and buried the poor sucker... other than that I'm a real selfish person and I'm really not looking forward to my parents getting old and senile but I guess that's what I have to look forward to... :1orglaugh
|
I hang out on the streets at busy intersections -- just drinking coffee or napping or smoking a cigar... so all neurotic drivers stressing out can see me relaxing and then go home and kill themselves...
I'm doing a real service to this community! |
There are few things you could do and help others, without affecting you financial in any way. One of them is to give to poor families old clothes and shoes you are not using and they'll end up most probably on garbage.

Last year I gave webmasters $5k worth of designs for free, unwillingly though.
|
I donated the domain "voicesfromhome.com" to a not for profit organization .. pretty cool company - they're offering voice service for servicemen overseas.
I used to head the redcross blood drive in our community. |
bump!

I have an automatic payment for a few hundred bucks a month to Unicef and a couple of local charities and I volunteer at the SPCA a few hours a week. I can't really deal with helping people face to face because they quickly irritate the shit out of me and I have to hold myself back from spazzing out and beating the fuck out of them.
|
my charity work is to let ppl know how fucking stupid they are
|
I fuck sex starved, horny women for free.
I am available at all hours. I devote a lot of my spare time to this. I also regularly donate to the "Get Joe Wasted Society"... a very worthy, but not particularly well known charity. |

believe it or not, sometimes people donate to charities without an economic point of view it's called altruism :winkwink: |
- Volunteer at the Philadelphia Folk Festival each year for the last 5 years. 4 days of awesome music and seeing old friends as we keep the festival running for our 5000-10,000 guests.
- Aids walk in Philly each year, I volunteer in getting all particpants dontations collected and signed up. - Being in the sales - telecomm industry for years before this, I get alot of clothing sent to me from people that I did buisness with and I donate all of that to the local goodwill. They are amazed usually someone is bringing in NEW stuff, never worn. - Restore old homes that are dilapidated into nice, clean livable housing for folks less fortunate than me. Its a very warm feeling to know that you helped someone out in the course of your day. I was very lucky to meet people that tossed me help when I was trying to get on my feet few years back, and they asked that I give back once I get ok. Karma is like a left turn, keep going and it comes back around to you. |
I run http://www.sinnerstours.com/ and we don't ask for money to our customers.
We give our services for free. |
..also registered with the bone marrow registry, but they haven't found anyone that I've matched.....yet! It's painless to get tested... more ppl should do it.
|
if I buy the bartender a shot, is that charity?
