hybrid's reply to the stupid newbie thread
You know, this subject is so beaten into the fucking ground. The argument is stupid, and every single view on it, at it's core; is retarded, even my own.
Look, the constant battle between newbz and "pros" is a gross misperception of this industry in the first place. Today's newb IS tommorrow's pro, and vice versa. There's such a flood of information and so many different paths you can take, that even Lens is a Newbie, in some respects. It's not about how much money you've made, it's not about how long you've been in this industry. The fact of the matter is, this is all script, text and imagination. It's sink or swim in any business. There's no regulation in this industry, and I have yet to see a clear, concise definition of a newbie to even merit a justifiable hate for them. It's not newbies you hate, it's specific characteristics of particular people, new or old, that you people find irritating, threatening or disturbing. You're all fucking stupid. |
Hybrid, next time tell us how you really feel.
|
I'll try, but it's awfully hard to open up when i feel so.....vulnerable
|
hmm.....
first off i think you get offended way too easily... you really shouldnt care if someone calls you a newb or not....what it comes down to is whether or not you are happy with the check you are bringing home at the end of the week, and whether or not you are determined to have the next check be higher than the previous one. listen, maybe what 'they' hate is having to deal with people who will NEVER last in this industry no matter how hard they try...if they even do try. it's not like everyones mind is made for business, neither is everyone made up with determination and a hard work ethic. if this is something you want to do, then do it....dont worry about someone calling you a newb. you dont need someone elses approval to follow through with your business plans.....as long as those plans dont rely on someone else other than the surfer. And quite honestly they shouldnt..... :2 cents: |
instead of posting smart-ass threads better go make a few free sites
|
no shit, or go ask Labret for $50grant

Really well said :thumbsup I am not new to the biz by any stretch of the imagination but am a complete and utter newb in regards to running porn sites. As Bigfrog pretty much said, don't sweat it :) |
hybrid is just a whiney little bitch

It's like this. If someone is calling you a newbie, and blah blah blah... then the ultimate way to prove them wrong is to stop posting, and start doing.
The problem with newbs today is that they don't do their homework before complaining on a fuckin message board, or begging for help. This isn't directed toward you, hybrid, but there's really no excuse for getting into a business... ANY business... and thinking everyone established in it is just going to be your crutch, and help you out with every insignificant or obvious question you ask. I have no problem in giving a newb a hammer. But it's up to him to build his house. Problem is, far too often you give a newb a hammer, and he ends up hitting you over the head with the fuckin thing. See what I'm saying? |

I'm not sweating shit, I'm just relaying my opinion that it's a moot point to argue about something so fucking stupid. Especially when it has nothing solid to stand on. |

Your directing your hate in a pointless direction. The painting on happy pencil: Antfarmageddon comes to mind: http://www.happypencil.com/images/ca...AntfarmImg.jpg |
See what happens when you drop some knowledge and expose the bullshit ? Nobody's got shit to say.
Good lesson. Fucking drama whores. |

quiet is just pulling your chain anyway... do you really think he cares? he's fucking retired... remember the guy is a fucking philosopher -- he's just playing with your heads...

There's no need to bash the Newbies. Everyone has to start somewhere.
Take them and guide them if you don't like the way they are doing things. It will pay off for you later on. Now what if someone had bashed or was un-willing to help you so called pro's when you first started. More then likely you wouldn't be here to bash anyone. Adopt a newbi, train them, show them the ropes. What's your pay for doing this. Besides feeling good about helping someone, it could also mean money in your pocket. Most people are willing to sign up under other webmaster's that are willing to help. So don't blame newbies for your own poor marketing techniques. There are 100's of 1000's of new surfers coming online everyday. Oz |

i dont give a flying fuck about your concerns. i post here for entertainment. so both you and what you think don't matter to me. Here's a hint: if you want to make money you have to work. So quit beeing a drama queen, stop posting jibba jabba and start working. No one will give you any worthy help - you have to learn everything yourself. |

Sorry i quoted so much, but these are very good responses. Too lazy to look who said it, but i also agree everyone is a newbie to some point, and i dont know too many people that would argue that. One thing i think id argue is someone said "everyone needed help at some point, and they got it back in the day" .... that may not be true .. i wasnt around that far back, but ive heard enough to know that it was way more a brutal world back then. I give quiet, TheFly, Fletch, Sly and all the rest of the "seniors" around here a buttload of credit for sticking it through. From what i heard, it was a kill or be killed business back then ... atleast nowadays alot of people are willing to help, and you can go to one BBS and find 3,000 point of views on any one topic. "I have no problem in giving a newb a hammer. But it's up to him to build his house. Problem is, far too often you give a newb a hammer, and he ends up hitting you over the head with the fuckin thing. See what I'm saying?" The above quote is classic! Id throw it in my sig if i wasnt at work and dont have too much time. Good post and great replies guys. :2 cents: |
