IBILL changing their processing rates

Just heard that IBILL is planning on raising their rates for their clients. Up to 15.9% across the board for everyone. Not sure if they will still give volume discounts, but what I was told was the rate will be for EVERYONE with no exceptions.

After the last year with all their fuckups I find it amazing they decided to raise their rates.

Times must be tough, or maybe they are in fact trying to get out of the adult business.

where was it that you "just heard" this?

digihax 04-15-2003 09:21 AM

yea thats a good questions.. I make really good money with IBILL and get the heads up on anything thats happening and I did not even hear of this..

When will they have their 'combined checks system' ready ??? I'm already waiting for 3 months, uh oh actually I must say 3 years :321GFY

Kick Ass Chat 04-15-2003 09:30 AM

If this has any validity at all, then it is truly amazing that the worst processor on the net would "Raise" their processing rates. They should be lowering them to try to surive rather then raise them while their on their way out??:2 cents: :2 cents:

max.yambo 04-15-2003 09:56 AM

we offer 8% discount rate.

digihax 04-15-2003 11:11 AM

yep just got off the phone with iBILL it is true what the hell.. 15.19% is the new rate across the board unless you have a contract with them otherwise.

FATPad 04-15-2003 11:15 AM

Thanks. :)

I made a typo, too. Made it look worse than it was. 15.9 instead of 15.19.

I still find it funny they're raising rates considering how horrible they've been the past year.

khy 04-15-2003 11:38 AM

My rep called me and told me all clients were getting raised +.19%, so NOT 15.19 for everone. Take your current rate and add .19% to it.

Also, they are going to start charging $15 per chargeback.

The chargeback fee is heavy when you consider that IBill actually has a nice history of large chargeback ratios.

I think chargebacks are more a factor of your own behavior than Ibills. Our average chargebacks from 1997-today are .88% with chargebacks much lower now that our first year or so in business. Learn customer service = avoid chargebacks.

I spoke to my rep and they are raising it .19% which is nothing really and the cb thing if you have low cb its once again no big deal. She did tell me they want to get Visa compliant so they are going to be cleaning house of dishonest webmasters and those not following the rules. She said this will guarantee ibill is around for a long time. Which I dont think is a bad thing at all, in fact I told her this should of been done years ago and we wouldnt be having alot of the problems we are having now.

Resolute 04-15-2003 01:41 PM

I think it's good that Ibill is taking measures that will ensure they will be around long into the future, to process you members, as I am sure you all want them to be.

15.9% is their top rate. 12.19% is at the other end of the scale,
if anyone has serious traffic but no one has posted that rate.

They are dammed if they do and dammed if they don?t. .

Sure they are far from perfect but give them some latitude guys !!

We have only had one late payment from them in 3 years. A good record in my opinion.

BritishTwinks 04-15-2003 02:33 PM

They say their reason for introducing the chargeback fees is so that only people with chargebacks pay the fines and not everybody else.

But then they put the % rate up for everyone, on top of the fees.

So we ALL pay more.

I'm seriously unimpressed.

We at iBill think it?s important that we clearly communicate this revised fee structure to you and what precipitated it. The net effect of the price change is in fact .19% over your current rate (.35% in EU). In turn, we?ve eliminated all ACH (electronic payment) costs and reduced wire fees. It is important to note that this cost is a pass-through expense that reflects a rate increase imposed on iBill from our processors. It is not a change made simply to add revenue to our bottom line.

Regarding chargebacks, the flat fee allows us the ability to better manage chargeback costs on the merchant level, as opposed to charging everyone a percentage across the entire merchant base. Obviously it?s preferable to reduce or eliminate chargebacks and with this fee structure, someone with no chargebacks will incur no expense. We?re happy to work with you to reduce chargebacks any way we can ? that?s an effort that pays off for everyone.

We are committed to providing the best possible service at competitive prices. Furthermore, it is our intention to support your industry and grow this business. You?ll notice that we?ve been as proactive as possible in communicating these changes, making this information known 30 days prior to its effective date. Regardless of the nature of the message, we will continue to improve our communication to our clients.

Pricing changes are an event we would prefer to avoid as much as you but they are sometimes an inevitable function of doing business. We urge you to contact our client services department at 1-866-424-5557 should you require more information related to this announcement.

If you've got volume you can do better than 12.19% at iBill.

Its odd that Ibill would have a problem and get fined for chargebacks considering how generous they are with refunds.
