I can only talk about Canada side with the maintenance of our Pipeline road
( I have work as Mobile Sandblaster/ Painter for over 5 yrs here in Alberta back in 2006+)

Those PipeLine in Canada are very well maintain and all inspected yearly INCH BY INCH if not more ,
to mesure how thick the Pipeline Steel is and in the Mean time if any part need to be replace they get Cut and Replace Very quick .

Sanblaster get in the hole and painter follow after this to put on a new Coat on. One Inch at the time lol no joke.

IMO our Canadian workers work hard to make it Safe for erveryone :thumbsup

No shade on Canada but this is why I'm against the pipeline in the U.S. I'm 100% for making money with oil etc. For some reason we can do water pipes & gas pipes no problem but something about the technology transporting oil by pipe is flawed.

We'll have over 11,000 miles of pipeline for terrorists to bomb or run a truck through and light on fire its just stupid.

second is, that you can not put such a pipleline on such a place over ground (than you can start building shopping centers there also) - and now ask the guys who are in charge of it HOW COMPLICATD (if not impossible) it is to maintain an underground pipeline.

the well known fact of ANY pipeline in the world is that only 90% of the oild pumped in is comming out at the other end. WHERE is the rest?

there will be mistakes or accidents

I wonder if anyone gave thought to those in the railroad and trucking biz that will be loosing their jobs because of the pipeline does not require as many good paying jobs to transport that oil to Texas where it will be refined and exported?

It is a heavy oil and can not be refined just anywhere.
And it is cheaper oil because of that fact. The refined products have a high profit margin in South America.

Just something to think about I guess if we are really going to count jobs.

Funny those company's are not taking Canadian's land for 99% of this.
And since that thick tar sands oil is priced about 1/2 wti oil, I'm not sure it's even worth piping it to the refinery.

And who gets to keep the toxins produced under the old grandfathered refinery's down here. Like to build a pipeline to send that back. Those profits don't stay here. Why should the toxins.

Before 2016, the US had a export ban except for distillates and limited exchanges with Canada. And this was played well by the oil company's by moving hi-grade oil to Canada (for export) and bringing in low grade tar sands oil, barrel for barrel (or so it was suppose to be)

As I say, they tell you this and give you that and none of it is in your interest, just theirs.
