I remember searching for the Afikomen, too. Good memories.

And, Waiting for Elijah. My parents would wait until the kids were out of the room and empty the plate and the wine cup...so we would think he had come. That and leaving the door open for him....and the ceremonial blood..although I know it wasn't really blood on the door of the house. Don't ask. :)

All that food. All that wine. Drunk at the age of thirteen. Gotta love it.

Hello Delia,

Passover is basically the Holiday in which Jews world wide celebrate and remember their liberation from bondage in Egypt.

If you ever saw the movie the Ten Commandments starring Charleton Heston as Moses that is the story of Exodus as told by Hollywood.

Passover is a celebration of freedom and liberation. I think one of the most meaningful and beautiful of all Jewish Holidays.

Theres much much more to it but thats the basic idea.

In Russia...everyone was Orthodox.....that's where I was born.

The Seders were six hours long....lots of blessings. Lots of wine. Great food.
