How hard is it to rip DVDS and ENCODE
 

how long would it tkae for like a 4hour DVD to be ripped and encoded

all night probably

Depends on the computer speed, memory how big you will encode them, are you going to encode with text as well? one 30 min video can take a few hours depending on what I said above. I have a pIII 850 1gig ram it takes me now about 10 mins per 5 mins of video to encode it but I encode it dvd-avi so I can edit and play around with making trailers etc.. *shrugs* tis boring unless your the one that did the fucking hehe

for sure , my webmaster is working a whole day on it
fucking videos - its too much work with them

you'll set it up.. and then you just wait for completion. Needs ~1min clicking and then the computer has to do it's job. I let it run on a 1.3 Ghz Athlon.. needs ~3-4h for a 90 min movie (one pass encoding). But better is if you go for 2 pass encoding
