What is a lot of money?

Damn it.. I'm never content.. I am doing more sign ups now than ever (more than most in this biz), but still feels like I'm not making shit.

When is it enough?????

Seriously, when do you guys think you're a success? (Like after how much $)

KnightMare 04-15-2003 01:17 AM

"Success is a journey.... Not a destination."

But, if you believe that success is fixated on a dollar amount...
Then it must be exactly $452.75.

Once you obtain that amount, you will be considered a "Success".

playa 04-15-2003 01:17 AM

its when you say you want something and don't have to worry bout upcomming bills or to see how much you got in your account

Theo 04-15-2003 01:17 AM

i want to buy my own country, so i still have a lot of work to do

Sloane 04-15-2003 01:19 AM

enough money to sustain the lifestyle you enjoy without having to work

quiet 04-15-2003 01:19 AM

it's all about net retained. if you have jack after expenses and taxes, what's the point?

Kevlar 04-15-2003 01:20 AM

300 joins/day accross the board and I'm content.

Indeed, when you can have a nice living after expenses etc. consider it enough, but on the other hand what is a nice living?

Donnie Gangsta 04-15-2003 01:21 AM

300 joins w/o affiliates?

Donnie Gangsta 04-15-2003 01:23 AM

Well, the thing is.. it depends on what you want

My problem is, I don't want to finance ANYTHING so whatever I buy I have to pay cash for it..

So, $500k house, $50k car, etc, etc.. it all adds up..

It's easy to live decent if you have overhead/financing charges but FUCK THAT...

And like, in this biz.. to make REAL money, you have to invest a lot.. so it seems like every dime I make goes back into this bullshit, hoping that soon I will be able to just stop and chill... but it seems like the more I put in, the more I want back, so the more I put in, more I get back... more I make more I put back in.. etc..
aaaaaaaaaah it will drive you mad.

oratu 04-15-2003 01:27 AM

My girl friend can only look a week ahead at a time.

It sounds like you are building your business and you just have to be patient.

Just think you are building the net worth of your business.

Just my thoughts

Donnie Gangsta 04-15-2003 01:30 AM

fuck patience.. that's for the real world

i got into the adult biz cuz i thought it was just like the drug biz, except legal... briefcases of cash, etc

i don't want some boring ass business where I analyze the P&L statements

haha.. oh well.. fantasy vs. reality

That's precisely what I do. You can't have everything at once, it takes time and patience. Move from a $5k car, to a $20k car, to a $40k car, and upwards. Same with homes... shared rented, to single rented, to a $80k home, to a $200k home, to a $600k home +

Pornwolf 04-15-2003 01:33 AM

2 Billion is when I relax.

I'd say around $300 million is where you can start saying 'fuck you' at random. That's the beginning of 'a lot' of money.

quiet 04-15-2003 01:39 AM

this is how i look at it. stay the fuck away from debt. if you have debt, clear that shit up first thing.

then worry about retained. concentrate on getting your first million US net retained (after taxes, etc), while still feeding your business. then look towards your next million. and carry on from there...

If US$750,000 landed in my lap tomorrow I'd never work again.

Ever.

I do own my own house outright though so that does make a difference.

I could make US$750,000 work.

oratu 04-15-2003 01:41 AM

I would have to say your are livving a pipe dream. Anything worth having takes work. I think a lot of you porn guys are rebelling against mommy and daddy. Do you know your father's name?

Mogul 04-15-2003 01:41 AM

Actually, it is when you can do what YOU want when YOU want to. When you are all liquid. You pay cash for everything.

It is a great feeling to do so. It makes me sad hearing about everyone and their stupid CC bills.

Get you a AMEX that you pay at the end of the month and get some visa/MC's that are just debits hooked up to your accounts.

Then you are all set to enjoy life. Which evidentally, consists of posting here now and then :glugglug

Something about this business... I never cared that much money, and now I'm OBSESSED. Doesn't help that my income is actually DOWN from last month and DOWN from a few years ago. Once you reach a certain level, it sucks so much to go backwards.

Validus 04-15-2003 02:35 AM

That much money simply doesn't exist. I don't think l00 billion is even a number. It's like saying I want a kajillion bajillion dollars.

SomeCreep 04-15-2003 02:36 AM

what is a lot of money?-->:2 cents:

KRL 04-15-2003 02:57 AM

It's never enough. Enough is an illusion of happiness. The zero's are addictive. When you get your first $100,000 squirrled away you want the magic Mil. When you get the Mil you want the power $10 Mil. When you get the $10 Mil you want the "I can tell everyone to fuck off" $100 Mil.

After a while though, you realize its not the money you are chasing or should be chasing, its the game itself that is the thrill and the rush. Its the coolness of knowing things your mind creates will be seen by millions. Companies you build will make a mark on the world and create opportunities for others. Money becomes meaningless after you have everything covered. It actually gets extremely boring. You can tell when guys have oodles of dough cause they all get that I'm so fuckin bored now look, like you see at country clubs with guys playing golf all day or sitting on their yachts thinking now what Sherlock?

Its all about the mountain climb. Not the plateau. When you get to the top of the plateau, you'll realize its more fun getting there than being there.

So don't look for the answer to what is enough. That's not where you'll find excitement and peace of mind. When you work hard, the money takes care of itself. Just wake up and think, "Awesome a new day of business to do and things to build and accomplish!"

quiet 04-15-2003 03:02 AM

i've pulled over 1 billion uniques each year, for the past 3 years. i really don't feel any different. i don't get the head trip. it's really only about money. means to an end.

there are many other things worth doing in this life, besides accumulating more of the same...

Haha! You understand my outlook on it all! Its a game, in order to win you must do the most... if you are playing this certain game. Money is irrelevent. After a certain amount (waaay lower than what I am shooting for) it's just there. The happiness quotient doesn't rise much because of it.

It's like playing sports, just because you can score more points or run faster doesn't make you better than or happier than anyone else - but - you take pleasure in trying to beat the shit out of the guy in front of you and helping your team win!

This is just a financial sport to me.

amil 04-15-2003 07:09 AM

A rich man once told me if you can count how many millions you have then you do not have too many.

No ammount of money will make you happy. You will always want something more and you will continue to suffer.
All the material things in this world are just an illusion that people struggle to obtain.

In reality it's: Birth, sufering, death.

Lane 04-15-2003 07:48 AM

if you can satisy all your 'useful' needs and still save some money, that is pretty much just the borderline into success IMO

EscortBiz 04-15-2003 07:53 AM

its not a dollar amount or number of signups, everyones got a different way of living.

Regardless the old rule is the more you have the more you need (not just want)

Libertine 04-15-2003 07:57 AM

As long as you stay out of debt, and are able to save enough to provide decent security to yourself and your family while also being able to lead a happy life (time, money, etc) you are succesful in my opinion.

69pornlinks 04-15-2003 08:11 AM

You can make a meal ticket and turn it into a lavish lifestyle and live happy, but after that magic number you gonna want another i say when you have a number with a least 7 zeros after it.

I'm just trying to get a pinch i don't want the whole plate.

I think Rockefeller said it best, when he was the richest man in the world and was asked how much is enough and he replied,"A little bit more."

No matter what I condider alot of money, when I get there it doesn't seem like alot!

Once the money works for you, and not you working for money, and it's more then enough to retire very comfortably on, Then and only then is it enough.:2 cents: :2 cents:

No, the money would be working, not me.

Anyway, that sort of thing is a hobby for me.

I could do it... I have enough confidence. I also have the will NOT to work! My leisure ethic is too strong!
