Opening a 130meg text file?!?!
ok, i've tried every frickin program on my computer, notepad, wordpad, word, excell, access even, i uploaded to my single CPU server, tried vi and pico, no work, so i xfer to my double cpu server, no love....
does anyone have any real suggestions on how this can be accomplished, and before you crack on my PC it is top of the line as are my servers.... thx |
jesuseditor.exe
|
Your pc sucks cause wordpad or word works for me on files bigger then that. They do take a few mins to open and it looks like the pc locks up but if you wait then it works.

and lens, jesuseditor.exe is listed as an international trojanless trojan, norton stops it, unless it is the HIV trojanless trojan worm... |
http://www.textpad.com/ will do the job nicely.
|
they're harvested.
|
I had the same problem, Notepad+ ended up doing the job.

agreed. textpad is the shiznit. |
As far as I know, Notetab Pro, can open it. Its considered the top text editing program out there. It wins the text editor category every year at the Shareware Industry Awards.

i know nothing about bulk email :thumbsup
|
... oh yes, windows ... try some linux / freebsd editor like VI ... takes seconds to open up !!
|
you need a HEX editor, normally used by programmersm, but IT can handle LARGE text files as well.

use to have te.exe, came with wordpad.exe you could edit any filesize....search for it
|
Use people's suggestions, or search for editpad. It is what I use to write my all html pages, it was postcardware, not sure if it still is. Opened 1+ gig text files in it personally.

vi should have done the trick, I've opened files over a gig with it. If it didn't work, make sure your vi is really an alias to vim5. on FreeBSD, do this as root:
export NO_X11=1 export WITHOUT_X11=1 export NO_GUI=1 cd /usr/ports/editors/vim5 make; make install; |

Kman, you need list management software to dedupe and cut up this file. Hit me up for a great deal [email protected] Also, a 30 million list would be about 5 times tthe size of 130 MB. |
