Can you guys help me out with this simple question:

Do I have to unsubscribe to the Greenguyandjim Newsletter every fucking day?

I unsubscribed 3 of my emails and I am not receiving their newsletter anymore.

Directly e-mail them, and they'll remove you. :thumbsup

You would think they would be sensitive to the spam hating nature of your typical webmaster....

If you haven't figured it out yet.... for every single email you've ever used submitting something to Link-o-rama, you are getting a copy of their newsletter.

I was getting a few of them, but I un-subbed and now everything is cool. I get only one now.

ya..i get em everyday...and the guy wont list my site no matter how much traffic i send him..i submit once a week and i have had his link up on one of my sites sending good SE traffic for like 2 months..never gets acepted..that site is bullshit

If you used more than one email address on link-o-rama, first, shame on you. Second...just unsubscribe the address you don't want.

The unsubscribe link works very well...but if you have more than one address from Link-o-rama or other tgp sites, just delete all but one. Remember, we do give away cash.

And as sad as it looks...we tried to give away $200 today and it appears that the winner may have opted out of the email telling him or her that they won.

One more quick thing as food for thought...
Everytime I send out a mailer which is Monday, Wednesday and Friday and someone bitches, we get more email signups and traffic than any other day.

Likeit says in the email that you received from me when you submtited, go & post your question on my board & you will get a reply. This is the 3rd time I've seen you bitching on the boards that I don't list you, yet you never bothered to read the mail that you got when you submitted nor post the question to me on my board.

people should bitch about it, spamming is bullshit.

It's not spam - it's a newsletter to people we've done business with in the past - seems like we just had this discussion last week :)

they will remove you from the mailing list, and then you don't have to worry about it.

if you call it SPAM, at least it is business related spam (unlike the spam I got this morning for a spam blocker!)

do you guys get this pissed when a sponsor e-mails you about a new program?

Another thing to note - we do have a legit "remove" link on the bottom of each email that contains the email address that the newsletter was sent to - the email address is also in the "To:" feild, as opposed to all those lovely "undesclosed recipients" emails that truly are spam :)

just click on unsubscribe and forget about it. It is hardly the first time someone has sent a newsletter to people that submitted to them.

The problem was that
1)I NEVER submitted to link-o-rama
2)I got multiple newsletter emails to an address that I don't use for any trades or submissions
3)I unsubscribed immediately using the link in the email each time

but still they keep coming.

Not really bitching that hard... just annoyed thats all.

I think the problem you may have had with unsubsubscribing was that we chanced mailer software in mid stream. I promise that if you were to remove yourself now at our site /mail.html you will not receive any email to that address again.

But guys...I just want you to know, we do give away money and in less than 6 months, we are giving away a TGP that Greenguy and I have managed for over 3 years.

I understand that getting several copies might piss you off, but, at least keep one.

We tried to give away $200 yesterday and the person opted out intead of reading the Bold Red text that said you have just won $200.

So even if you get our email and just scan it...look for Bold Red text. You might win some money.

Anyway...I am rambling and have taken enough of your time. We really mean no harm in sending out our newsletters. And we actually have people bitch when they don't get them.

So if you get one and you really want off the list, just click the link on the bottom. It really will remove you from our list.

Shaft on that guy! Can I have his prize?

If you are on our list you might. If we don't get a winner this week, it goes to $300 next week. But, we are going to attempt to give away the $200 again this week. So, before anyone is so quick to unsubscibe, wait till the end of the week. :)

just so there's no confusion, not all of those are currently accepting submits, so please don;t get all bent out of shape if you can't find the submit area :)

(we had to close a few down due to autosubmit problems)

No...Our mailer script is setup to watch for too many subscribes from the same ip address.

And...I go through all of them by hand. :)

Oddly enough, we had 800 email addy's opt in on Monday - of course, they were all from the same IP, so they were deleted - LOL

At least you get a chance at some green being on the emai list, and your talking about Greenie and Jim Barnett who are upstanding folks here.

They just launched, give thema chance to work some of the kinks out.

I get about 30 emails aday with a virus attached...i will save my rage for that rather than two trusted webmasters sending me a newsletter - big deal.

We just moved the mailer to a new domain so I suspect that might be the unsubscribe problem for a few people. But, if you write or come over and ask, I would be happy to remove anyone that wants to be removed.

I am just curious as to what this persons email address is. See, the winner is pulled from the regular database and would come up with that message if they tried to remove themselves. And, our winner never claimed their prize.

So, next week...$300 :)
