I hate MasterCard

My gateway PSIgate.com just informed me that Mastercard has suspened my account. I use psigate to proccess for my webhosting business, and now even adult webhosting is considered high risk! I have no choice but to remove all my adult webhosting plans, land all links to anything adult related.
I cannot believe thiis is happening! I asked my rep what the hell is going on, and his hands are tied. I knew Visa/MC was clamping down in the U.S. but now Canadian business owners are also being targeted.

Are the risks associated with adult material that great that Visa and Mastercard really dont want anything to do with it anymore? cause thats scary.

Nothing, this is exactly what they told me:
If you take off the link to a adult web hosting site, we will resubmit the
application.
MasterCard/Visa are clamping down on porn. It is getting more and more
difficult to
approve any gray area business for credit cards on the net. Please let me
know what you
wish to do.

Sensex, please drop me an email, I'd like to talk to you -- [email protected] --

SENSEX, please keep us updated on this situation... this is the first mention i've heard so far about MC causing any new problems in our industry..

I'd recommend you post this as well at webhostingtalk.com and see what the feedback there is.

????

You cannot obtain an merchant account in Canada for online adult products or subscription. ( and if you say you can. please provide a link or shutup).

Some merchants, operating physical stores, use that merchant accpunt to process sales for goods at their own risk of cancellation.

They probably expanded the " politicaly correct " to ISP...
It really has nothing to do with high risk...that's all bs...

This sounds like it was your processor's choice, based on their own interpetation. I don't think you can blame MasterCard because your processor isn't well informed.

It would be neat if epassporte had a referral system...

HairToStay 04-14-2003 04:25 PM

It would be even neater if epassporte answered emails from businesses requesting information. Today is 14 days since my initial inquiry and so far no one in sales has bothered to contact me

Wow, it would be even neater if you had sent that email to [email protected] like I asked you to the other day... I don't get the ones in the general box so I can't tell you how it was missed. I do get the ones I received answered within hours at most.

fnet... patience, Rome wasn't built in a day --

HairToStay 04-14-2003 05:44 PM

I did, Kimmy --- on Thursday I sent you an email

On Tuesday I sent one to ... john.keith@? Something like that, my mind is much tonight

:)

Pam, I apologize, as I did in the email I just sent you -- I replied to the email before I read your post and I just went thru my inbox and can only find the email from today as coming from you -- none from last week, so I dont know where that email ended up --

I think I've gotten you the answers you are looking for, if not then let me know and I'll be happy to get you anything else you need --

HairToStay 04-14-2003 06:27 PM

Thanks for the quick response :)

Looks like we'll be doing business

Heheh, funny. I have their merchant app sitting on my desktop but I'm weary about paying them the $249 application fee and be subjected to ALL the bullshit from BOTH countries.

There must be other ways to process payments for adult webhosting. Even paypal is technically a no-no now.

The sales guy didn't say anything about it -> can you give me your contact's name or extension so I can break his balls for trying to fleece $249 out of me?

Good deal, anything else you need, as I said in the email, just let me know and I'll see what I can do --

gruffy -- there is a really simple way to process payments -- it's called http://epassporte.com -- if you need clarification or help, or want to get a contract going drop me a line -- [email protected] --

NETbilling 04-14-2003 09:22 PM

Sexsex,

Depending on your business model, we can help you establish a merchant account at one of the offshore entities we work closely with.

Please email me the details and url to: [email protected] or ICQ: 117496436 and I will followup. Based on your post, it was your gaeway's merchant bank freaking out, not Mastercard themselves.

Thank you, Mitch Farber
