Same here, my last fish died, and I haven't had time to empty out the water yet. Done with fish tanks for now.

don't know why but I hate gold fish (just like pigeons)
i like all kinds of small tropic fishes in all kinds of colors

infectd 04-14-2003 12:26 AM

I used to have around 10 Spotted puffer's . Props to you know know about these little bastards. They lok pretty harmless but put a medium sized goldfish in the tank to play. and they will consume it pretty qucik ;)

Im kinda sad with all the used too posts..

What happened? I have had a 55 gallon tank for 2 years and only 3 or 4 fish ever died..

Im looking at getting a 400-600 gallon salt and looking for input/ideas.

mostly gouramis and barbs. i have two blue gouramis, two pearl gouramis, three honey gouramis, three tiger barbs and two rosy neon barbs. i have a betta in a two gallon tank and a few neon tetras spread around.

Steve 04-14-2003 06:51 AM

I had several tanks in the past (and damn near everytime I go to the petstore I stare at the tanks lol), but I am not really looking to get back into it. I move around too much to set up a tank I'd enjoy, and to be honest, I haven't seen a fish I'd like to keep in a long time.

I have had both fresh and salt set ups - salt water tanks are very cool IF you have the right equipment to keep them nice. Either way, I suggest to buy the best shit you can find (if the local shop doesn't have it, buy a magazine and check out the ads or shop online), because it will make a big difference in the maintainence of the set up and the health of your fish. Also, the bigger the tank, the better off you'll be (more room for the fish, and larger tanks tend to be more stable - less stress doing smaller water changes/cleanings more frequently than a big clean-up once/month)

AcidMax 04-14-2003 06:58 AM

Here is just one of the pics from my tanks:

Here are some more pics:
AcidMaX's Fish Tanks

We are moving so they are all taken down right now, but this is what they looked like. The big one is a 150 gallon. We also have a 90 gallon, 70 gallon all saltwater and a 40 gallon fresh water.

I need to get a USB extension cord for my webcamera. And then i'll show you my tank. Nothing special. Only 3 foot long. Varied African cichlids.

Thanks, actually looks a lot different from that now, but I am lucky that we have a huge salt water place right down from my old house (of course we just move 30 min away).

But the place i get most of my stuff is at http://www.tropicorium.com...great people and very knowledgeable.

I don't have any tanks set up anymore (started moving too damn often) but I will again one day.
I'm a Cichlid nut. What character! Awesome little attitudes - gotta love 'em.
My favorites are convicts, jack dempsies, and blue texas cichlids. Can't find the texas' anymore in the fish stores... especially the brilliant blue ones that I love.

Sweet! Salt is the way to go man...freshwater seems so dull after you get a marine tank.

i let it go to shit, then i bought a snake, this was a looong time ago. 10 years maybe.

was too much for me to maintain, and my fish died.

i recently bought a small 25 galloon one, to pick up some cheap pet store fish just for fun, and they died too, i dont have good luck with water creatures.
