Tony Robbins In Toronto

There's this real estate expo thing in Toronto I'm checking out on the 18th. Is anyone from the area going?

I know what people think about motivational speakers and such, but Tony has changed some of my life and my thinking. Primarily about action taking. Focus with absolute certainty to re-enforce believe cycles.

I spent 7 years trying to make a review site (many actually at different points) that did pretty good, but it only took me less than 1 year to go to cams and exceed the review site's earnings. Had I not tried, believed it was possible, it wouldn't have been an attempt, nor one I stuck with. What I'm learning is, I had to adapt because pay sites are not the same as the good old days. People are driven to spend on cams.

Tony, Pitbull and Jim are among the notables.

I thought what's $45 (x2 with the wife)?

I might learn something. :2 cents:

Tony Robbins is awesome! I bought his motivational DVD pack years ago and it was just what I needed. I could only imagine the energy and impact he'd have in person :thumbsup

Thanks for the positive response! :)

He should be great. Check out this video, maybe it'll impact someone here!

Looks fun.

Doesn't it all go back to Dale Carnegie's books.

That's what I heard, it's all a repeat of old concepts.

But modern celebrity / excitement gets me pumped! I remember watching the video above in 2008 ^^^.

I was 20 lol. Slowly getting smarter and more realistic.

On point! He really knows his stuff :thumbsup

I know a lot of people don't want to listen to him, but when you do and you give it a chance, it really speaks to you!

OneHungLo 03-11-2017 02:45 AM

I've known a few people into him and they were all flunkies. Always buying his books and other shit and hoping he would reveal some secret that would set them off to success. But they just remained losers.

Why would anyone go to these stupid things?

The Porn Nerd 03-11-2017 08:23 AM

I know Tony and have been to many of his seminars. They are fun and definitely motivational! But the "key" to any of this stuff is self-motivation. Tony gets you a nice bump but you have to have that fire buring inside you otherwise it's just a bump of motivation and nothing else.

Have a great time!! You'll be amazed at how tall he is person. :)

For once, I agree with you.

Here's how it works. Tony Robbins gives super energetic speeches, full of uplifting, optimistic goodies. The trick though, is that this is all stuff everyone already knows. He gets people to nod their heads, and say yes, yes and alot more yes.

What it really is of course, is a sales pitch. "Do you want to be successful?" (Yes, of course!). "Buy my books / DVD etc".

Of course, everything you buy, has an upsell to something even bigger. "Do you REALLY want to be a success?" (Yes omg yes!). "Buy this book and that book!". Etc.

Eventually some people are paying thousands of dollars for this stuff, paying to go on retreats etc. Remember the "Walking on coals" bit from about 10-15 years ago? "I will give you so much self confidence that you, yes you, can walk on coals! Pay me a bazillion dollars to come to my exclusive retreat, blah blah blah".

Of course the truth is, anyone can walk on burning coals. After a fire has died down the ash on top of coals is much cooler than the flames below. Walking properly across coals at this time is possible to do without burning your feet. But hey, who needs science?

It doesn't hurt to check out his show, especially if its free. And if you want, of course buy a few books. There's undoubtedly some useful information in them that can help some people, but just be wary of all the extra up-sells.

that's exactly how it plays out for 99% of the people... I know a guy like that too, jumping from one book/dvd series/etc to another... luckily he is too broke to afford seminars and other expensive stuff, so they can't fleece him too much...

that stuff is kinda like a drug, it gives you a brief high, you are all pumped up, then an hour later the high is already gone... and you go seek the next high (next book/seminar/etc)...

if anything I would just watch some free youtube videos, they say the books, full dvd series, seminars, etc hold more secrets, but really they don't... it's same motivational crap spread over x dvds/hours... cause really, there is no secret, everyone knows damn well what they are supposed to do, they just have to get off their asses and do it...

Oh I didn't know that's how his in person events work.

Kinda reminds me of years ago one summer when one of my conflicted models asked me to goto a summer concert with him I was like yeah sure. So we get there to the huge stadium, met a couple of his family members, and it was a fucking Christian concert! I was like fine whatever (we were fucking and he was hot so I was like this is the price I pay hehe ;)

This concert goes on forever and finally it's winding down then BAM! The last band playing their last song start speaking in tongues, and most everyone in the stadium starts speaking in tongues, those who aren't are looking at each other like WTF! A stadium of tongue speaking Christians is surreal.

Then the guy in the band starts coaxing people in the audience who haven't been saved to walk down to the middle of the studium and be saved by the few dozen preachers standing by, then everyone start coaxing their unwitting guests to do the same. It was a loooong 20 minutes or so of pure pressure and I didn't break but tried hard not to break out laughing at all the years and moaning haha!

It was a "Harvest Festival"

If anyone asks you to goto a "Harvest Festival" during spring or summer, they are trying to harvest your soul for Jesus :):2 cents: :1orglaugh

Hopefully there is not this kind of pressure at these Anthony Robins shows he's always been a motivator to me :thumbsup

Robbins makes money by telling people how to make money

He hypes people up and makes them feel good and that's the downfall. It's like when you say to yourself you're going to start working out and eating healthy, as soon as you say it you've already rewarded yourself and you're like 10 times less likely to do it.

I've enjoyed listening to Tony Robbins over the years ever since I was a teenager.

One of the life-changing things he taught me is -->>

Quote:

You get stuff done when:

The pain of not doing it is GREATER THAN the pain of getting it done.
Now I find myself considering the pain of "doing" versus "not doing" something and it's amazing how that makes up my mind either way and moves me to act. :1orglaugh

Now just the sound of his voice hypes me and gets me in a productive state! :thumbsup

incredibleworkethic 03-11-2017 02:45 PM

I'm not buying into anything of the stuff that might be there, I might check out a book that someone on here told me about, but in reality I just want to see how the energy, the ideas and the coming together and just getting out with hungry people (well some of them) might influence me, at least for that day.

It's really better than hanging around people that aren't doing anything in life to better themselves. We're as good as the people we hang around - many big names have said this. Many big names also work hard first thing in the morning, work out and always just seem to give effort.

I have been watching Tony for years free on youtube and facebook live now, I just wanted to see him in real life. :) Let you know how it goes.

I'm a creative person, a content producer & a nuturer. I fight the black hole my "mother" ripped into my spirit as a child, sometimes it temporarily takes over. I am unique. And you:

Shap 03-11-2017 03:17 PM

I'm a huge Tony Robbins fan. I've never seen him live but I've consumed alot of his content. I know he's too gimmicky for most people but the message he does relay is direct and on point.

That said I read a great write up by Noah Kagan who went to watch Tony and walked out. Note he was at the multi day event. For just $45 i'd do it.
Why I Walked Out on Tony Robbins

I've also learned from going to a few Gary Vaynerchuk talks that if the price isn't an issue go. The energy itself can be enough to have an impact on you :)
