Microsoft now puts ads in Windows 10 File Explorer
|
Unfuckingbelievable
|
They are upselling their products.
You were stupid enough to pay for Windows. |
Why do you think they let everyone upgrade for free? You think it's because they are good, kind hearted people? No, they jumped on the tube model and now everyone is being monetized. Good for them. It's innocent and won't affect 95% of peoples lives who use it day to day. They even have a "Not now" button for you to discard it.
People seem to want everything in the world for free, without ads and in the highest possible quality, these days. Newsflash, it doesn't happen very often and when it does it's because {insert new unicorn startup name} is running on other peoples money hoping to be the next FaceBook and only care about daily users/growth metrics. There always comes the day when you pay the piper. |

I saw this. They also have pop up windows when you first use Chrome to tell you that Microsoft Edge is "faster".
We knew this was coming a decade ago. Microsoft runs the operating system, and it was only a matter of time before they started pushing their products before others. We saw this before with Microsoft Explorer when they were taken to court over not installing other browsers with Windows. |

Staying on Windows 7 as long as possible, would switch to Linux rather than use Windows 10
|
That's great. Will probably allow for a new competitor to take over. The os is almost irrelevant anyway for most people - just the thing they use to open a Web browser.
